My husband’s dog when we let him in sometimes the cage door is open and he sticks his head in there and with his snout presses it against my rabbit all over. I don’t know what that means but it makes me very mad because the dog’s snout is always wet thus making Ralphy wet. He also sticks his head in there to eat his poo (EWW!!!!) I take him out of the room then let him in, he finally calms down and lays on the bed, no longer cares, but when Ralphy starts jumping everywhere on the floor Bruce (the dog) jumps off the bed and runs where the rabbit is and will lay there watching him or crawl under the bed with him again pressing his snout against Ralphy. Tonight he was barking at Ralphy cuz he was hopping like a crazy rabbit! lol, Ralphy could care less but I don’t know what to think of this. What do you guys think?

I would NOT let the dog near the bunny. Either way, it is too dangerous. Over playful dogs can cause some major injuries even if they don’t mean to.

Agree, I watch him like a HAWK! He is a border collie chow mix so he is way larger so Ralphy could not defend him self if someone stupidly left them together.

Don’t let the dog in at all if ralphy’s cage is open. Period. No exceptions. It’s an accident waiting to happen otherwise.

our old pup would dp that but they were friends (we was a toy poodle) he would always eat bunny poo and follow them around like they were moving candy machines…lol
but in your situation, I wouldnt let them be together cause if bruce just steps wrong he could really hurt ralphy…

Honestly, to me it doesnt sound like a huge issue if he isn’t trying to leap, nip, or paw at your rabbit. When Nava comes out of her pen Phil will go lay next to her to keep and eye on her (Phil is a “Pit Bull”, btw, who is friendly with all animals and knows how to treat them). The nosing thing can be stressful to the bun though, same with the barking. I would try to correct those naughty behaviors just so your bunny feels more relaxed.

And I would be careful using the word “aggression”. It just sounds scary. He isn’t actually aggressive with the bunny, just seems curious. You have to teach him his limits though, so there won’t be a problem.
