Hey everyone, I recently got a double mane baby lionhead buck. I brought him home on Friday and all was well that day. However, I’m extremely paranoid so whenever he does something out of the ordinary (I’m a first time bunny owner so I’m not really sure what ordinary is for bunnies) I google search his behavior to see what kinds of problems his behavior is associated with. I only feed him Timothy hay and pellets since he’s only 6 weeks old. He has fiber-rich snacks that I occasionally give him as well. But, anyway..
Yesterday I noticed that he scratches/grooms himself pretty frequently. He uses his hind legs to scratch himself. And after he has scratched his head, he licks and kind of nibles his foot. He does this to his paws as well. I’m concerned because I’ve used pet stain carpet cleaner to get rid of some of the pee stains he has left behind. Is it possible that he could have stepped in the still wet carpet cleaned spots and gotten his feet/paws irritated from it? I’ve checked him for fleas and I didn’t find any, I searched the inside of his ears too.
Another thing, his stomach gurgles when he drinks water, is that normal too? And sometimes his droppings are little smaller and darker than his regular ones (but they’re not cecotropes) should I be concerned if they are darker? Black almost.
He still eats and drinks regularly, I would take him to the vet but I’d have to wait until not this upcoming Friday, but the next Friday for my paycheck (I spent my last paycheck on buying him along with a large cage, food, litter, etc.)
On a good note, he still binkys and explores my room a lot. He also has an obsession with crawling underneath my bed..
