My sweet little American fuzzy lop (it’s been 5 months since I adopted him, he’s somewhere around over a year I was told by the person who dumped him at the pet store) weighs a mere 2.45 lb exactly when I had him checked. I’ll tell you his diet which is 1/8 of a cup of oxbow essentials pellets a day, unlimited fresh timothy hay and obviously fresh water daily and wet greens with his favourite being italian parsley. He seems perfectly healthy and happy but he just seems so skinny! He’s not thin around the waist at all, it’s just his spine is really bony and I can feel his hip bones too around the bottom of his back. It’s like there’s no fat! Is his weight ok? I feed his pellets as instructed by the vet but just half morning half evening. What if he’s older than I was told or even younger, like under a year and being fed an adult diet that’s not nutritiously fortified for a young rabbit? (Like alfalfa). I overthink a lot, but he’s everything to me.
