Introduction

Hello everyone.
I am new to this forum. My name is Aashi. My bunny’s name is kuku. We got him a week back. As per the pet store owner , kuku was 40 days when we got him home. He is a sweet, naughty and intelligent bunny. I don’t know about the breed. May be someone from this forum could help. We picked kuku from a group( i don’t know whether all were from same parents) of 10 bunnies.
He/she is not spayed or neutered.

The petshop have sold him / her far too young
If you can report them to a animal welfare ( rspca or rabbit society whatever is in your area ) I recommend doing so to help prevent them selling anymore that young
It’s dangerous for their health and many babies die from being separated from mum that young – not always straight away either it’s usually randomly a week or two after sale and suddenly
Is baby eating well ? toileting well ?

I agree with Boston’s mama that this is a very young rabbit that ideally should still be with its siblings. In some countries there’s no law stipulating at what age a rabbit can be sold, though.

At six weeks, a baby bunny should be weaned. What do you feed him? Is he eating well?

As for breeds, were not experts here, I recommend you ask at Rabbits Online, in their Rabbitry and Showroom-section. Here’s a link to that forum:

Yes baby is eating well and his pee , poop is also fine.

He is very active , running ,hopping everywhere. I introduced litter box to him and he has used it few times. Have seen him relieving outside the box as well.

I am feeding him ray vegetables . Tried pellets but he didn’t liked .

He sounds like a lovely little guy! Do you have access to hay? Hay is important for rabbits. Both their GI tract and their teeth need hay, because it has lots of tough fiber. In some places where you can’t get hay, you can get fresh grass, for example Bermuda grass. Just make sure its not been treated with any pesticides.

He ought to eat a little bit of pellets, for protein and calcium. He needs that for growth. If you leave a little bit of pellets with him over night, he might try them. Do you know what he was fed in the pet store? A young bun’s diet shouldn’t be changed swiftly.

Got little late in replying. got busy…
Yes he indeed a very lovely bunny. He is hopping and binkying most of the time and very playful.. He is almost pee trained but poop , i guess it will take time. He used to love bermuda grass. but for past few days he is not eating it well.

Leaving pellets with him overnight is a great idea. will try this. Thanks for your suggestion

He was being fed carrot , corn and grass in pet store..

Hi! He is adorable . I agree with Bam that a bun’s diet shouldn’t be changed quickly, but the store should not have been feeding him vegetables yet, so I would stick with the grass/hay and pellets.

Thanks Luna. i have reduced the veggies and increased bermuda hay . I give him pellets as treats after he uses litter box for pe and poo. I give 3-4 pellets everytime after he uses litter box..

Great idea with the pellet reward for proper litter box habits . Did Kuku start eating his hay more after your last post?
