My husband and I had been taking about getting a rabbit when we first moved out to Nebraska but then put it on the backburner (we were/are also planning on getting laying hens as well)…until I saw Luna. Oh my word, I think she is the most beautiful little bun I’ve ever seen! I knew right away we were going to go home with her, and that was March 18!
She’s a Dutch, my guess is around 11.5 weeks old, and we named her Luna after Luna Lovegood. She is definitely a Luna- smart, hops to the beat of her own drum, and is just the sweetest and calmest rabbit. She’s my first rabbit and the first for my husband as well– though he grew up with his mom having up to five rabbits. I’m learning a lot and hoping to give her the best bun life she can have.
Luna loves cilantro and romaine lettuce and eats clover like its her last meal. She tolerates spinach and occasional melon (and would probably solely eat carrots if I let her).
I’m still learning every day, but it’s a wonderful adventure. I’m amazed at how fast she’s growing and love learning her personality. And if the amount she binkies and flops is an indication, I think she’s pretty happy with her family
Thanks for all the wisdom on the forums!
