Hi everyone,
I’m new to the site and very grateful for all the hints and tips. It’s great to be able to fine all the answers in one place and reassuring that it’s not only me that has questions. Thanks.
I have 5 bunnies. Freddie was 1 in July, Millie was 1 in August, Dexter will be 1 in January and Winston and Poppy are just 6 months.
Dexter, Winston and Poppy are Freddie and Millie’s kits. The oldest 3 have been neutered now all is calm.
I was a complete novice 12 months ago and have learned a lot about rabbit keeping. Luckily I’ve not made too many big mistakes and all 5 bunnies have been healthy with no problems. They are all covered by petplan and have joined the health club at our local vets who are great with rabbits. They have a couple of rabbit specialists so I’m lucky they are so close by.
Freddie is a darling. More like a dog than a rabbit and when I decided to get rabbits, I really didn’t realise how loving and charming they could be. He makes me laugh every day.
Millie, being female, is a bit more stroppy of course. She doesn’t like being lifted off the ground but once she’s in your arms, she’s comfortable and happy to cuddle. She can be a little madam but I love her for it.
Luckily Dexter is just like his dad and loves cuddles. He snuggles into my neck and falls asleep which is cute, only he snores!
Winston is a little sod! He’s mischievous and a bit of a biter but full of character. He’s being neutered in Thursday so hopefully he’ll get out of that habit.
Finally Poppy. She’s a timid little thing so I’m giving her a bit more attention to build her confidence. She loves cuddles but you have to be quick to catch her first. She’s not scared, I think she runs away to make a game of it!
Well, that’s my brood. All tucked in for the night.
