Hi everyone! I recently discovered the Binky Bunny site, and it looks like a great resource. I’d like to introduce myself, and my bunny, Captain Danger.
Captain Danger is a smart, energetic, sweet, and stubborn Holland Lop. He’s 1.5 years old, and we adopted him one year ago from a college student who no longer wanted him
He immediately made himself at home, let our two cats know who’s boss, peed on everything (until we had him neutered), and generally began filling the enormous hole in our lives after our previous Holland Lop, Mr. Hop Hop, passed away, leaving us completely heartbroken
Captain Danger has had lots of health problems in his young life–within the first six months we had him, he had pinworms, fur mites, scabbing and fur loss under his chin (we never figured out the exact cause of this), and then E. caniculi, which caused a cataract in his eye. All of the minor conditions have been treated and have cleared up. Under the care of our vet (who we see a lot) and our vetrinary opthamologist, we’ve been treating the E. caniculi with fendbendazole–successful so far… but I’ll be posting soon for some advice from other people who have dealt with E. caniculi before…
Throughout all this, Captain Danger has been as spunky and happy as could be–he’s so energetic, and he brings a lot of joy to our lives
(Oh, and I’m a graduate student working on completing my PhD. I enjoy cooking, traveling, gardening, hiking, canoing and gardening… )
