        Hi guys

So I got my Bunny insured VIP pet insurance.

Not sure if its worth it or not, but I have the money so why not.

        The problem is this…

It only works if my bunny has an emergency…which is fine. I can dish out the 160bucks for the regular visits.

However, when it is an emergency I have to pay the vet. Then the insurance will kick in and reimburse me. This is what sucks and I don’t like it…what if I don’t have a lot of money? Or all the money they are asking for?

        Is this insurance worth it?

Let me know you opinions and experiences.

        Thanks

I looked into it myself, but I couldn’t find internet info. Only a number to call. That puts me off. I dont’ want to feel harassed by salespeople.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about VPI-wish it was available in Canada.
Maybe get a credit card for vet stuff, don’t use it otherwise, then when the insurance company reimburses you, you pay the card off.
That is typical for how insurance works-you pay first, they give you money later.

Good to know. Maybe it’s worth the phone inquiry.

Thanks for the reply’s guys I appreciate it.

I guess I will keep it. Its 11bucks a month. I have also added Tugy the tortoise.

How do I apply for a credit card? I don’t know about my credit score or anything. I only have debit cards.

There’s a credit card specially for people and pet health emergencies. It’s called care credit. We don’t have it, but it looks like it would be good to look into.

It sounds like a good deal. As far as care credit goes, the easiest way to apply is during the vet visit (doesn’t have to be an emergency ) You will usually get instant approval or denial.

I’ve looked into insurance (we once forked over $2000 for a two day vet stay for one of our dogs), but I haven’t found any I’m set on.
