Injured his back foot possibly?

Well Cash got his fluffy little butt into some mischief when my back was turned.

He wiggled under a folded up table, and it almost fell on him. He got out of the way, the table DID NOT hit him at all.

A few minutes later I noticed her was grooming and flicking his back right leg ever few seconds, and adjusting how he was standing, almost fidgeting. I immediately was worried he broke a leg. I went over to go and check the leg. I carefully touched all of it, and listened for teeth grinding, and watched him for signs of pain when I gently probed the leg. Nothing. No bones felt damaged, and he seemed fine with me touching it. (He is very good with his legs so this is not out of the normal.)

He is hopping around on it, but clearly looks as if he is limping and favoring it. I’m wondering if he may have just bumped it, and had what would be similar to a funny bone pain for humans. Or a small sprain or muscles strain. I’ll be taking him to the vet asap, but mine is currently out of the office and the nearest other rabbit over is three or four hours away, and we can’t get there. So it might be a week or so until he gets to the vet.

Any advice on to tell what he happened to do with his leg? What his injury might be?

At this current moment he doesn’t seem to be favoring it. He keeps standing on his hind legs and looking around.

I am confused. First you say he is favouring it but then you say he isn’t?
If he is fine with you touching it and and doesn’t seem to be in pain, my guess would be it would be a soft tissue injury of some sort. However, none of us here can tell you for sure, so you definitely should get to a vet ASAP. I wouldn’t wait a week. If it is at all possible to take him to the vet which is a bit farther away, I would do that.

Okay So LongEared… He kept limping occasionally, and then stopping. It took me about 30 minutes to write this post, and he kept transitioning between not limping and limping.

Uhm so an update… He has completely stopped limping. I let him out of the cage about an hour ago and he has just been binkying nonstop. No sign at all of favoring the foot, or any sign of limping. I feel like it might just have been tender and he may have bumped it, or stepped on it wrong for the moment. Because like I said I saw the table fall, and I know for fact that it did not hit him.

We made plans last night to take him to the vet 5 hours away at lunch if he showed signs of limping by lunch. But since in the past hours it has been binkying and bunny snuggles and licks I’ll be waiting the week to take him to the vet. Unless he starts spontaniously limping.
