Injured Bunny??

I’m so sorry if I put this in the wrong place!

My little guy, Buster, was hopping around today and (I have NO idea why) tried to jump up onto the kitchen counter! He’s never done it before, and obviously  he didn’t make the jump, but he fell pretty hard before anyone could get over and maybe catch him . After that I picked him up and he squirmed around and then hid under my bed for a few hours. He wouldn’t even take a little bit of apple from me, which he usually loves. I finally got him out from under the bed by actually moving the bed and picking him up, but he didn’t like being held. He’s back in his cage now, and he was letting me pet his head/ears. When I tried to feel around his back legs/feet, he jumped off the little shelf in his cage and hid in the opposite corner. I think he hurt his foot, but I’m not sure what to do. He also won’t eat any hay/pellets/apple slices or carrot pieces. I’m going to call the vet tomorrow if this continues, but I feel so terrible for him!  If anyone has any tips or input, I would be so thankful!!

It could be a sprain possibly – definitely have the vet do a physical check of him – in the meantime keep him confined and try to get him to eat.

I second Sarita…. Get to the vet for Xrays and pain meds and make sure he is eating. My Pascal has been in stasis recently and I believe it was caused by pain from a muscle strain after catching his foot.

Thank you all! The vet he sees that takes care of rabbits isn’t in today, but Buster has been eating again and hopping around a bit so that is a big relief. He still doesn’t really like to be held and he hops a little awkwardly, but it’s definitely better than yesterday! I’m bringing him in to the vet tomorrow to make sure everything’s alright.
