  My lionhead’s hair is growing so I have been brushing him more however I still have noticed one in a while that some of his poop has a “tail” or are connected together. When I brush him, hardly any hair comes off so I don’t know how exactly it keeps happening. Any ideas how to stop it from happening?

  My bunny isn’t a lionhead, he is a Rex and the same thing happens here, you can’t stop him from moulting, are you feeding him fresh hay daily? He has to have hay to help the hair come out when he goes to his bathroom, I think you are worried about gastric stasis like my bunny had, well we can prevent most cases of gastric stasis and hairball obstruction in rabbits by feeding them a high fibre diet mainly of hay and green, leafy vegetables and a few pellets, make sure he has plenty of fresh water, if he has a bowl, remove toys from his bowl, which he may have put in so he can access his bowl, also plenty of exercise, let him run about in his play pen, or your room, I’m not a vet, but this is what I was advised when I saw the vet when Olly got gastric stasis, if bunny becomes lethargic refuses to eat, does not use his bathroom, has tummy ache, you must take him to a vet straight away, don’t massage his tummy, don’t give him any medicine that is not from a vet.

  This saved my Bunny’s life.
  But if you feed him good food like lots of hay, a few pellets he should be OK, I hope I have helped you a little bit, maybe someone has more advice to give you on the subject MissBunni.

  Ingested fur generally isn’t a problem. They groom themselves, so it’s inevitable. As long as your bunny is eating plenty of hay, then it probably isn’t anything to worry too much about.
  
  Some people do like to give papaya supplements because it is believed that the enzymes help break fur down. This isn’t really supported by scientific evidence, just anecdotal evidence.
