Is it wrong to be sad and grieving yet excited?
Because I am
We’re going camping-I’m so pumped. Dave is the stay at home type and I just strait told him we’d be going camping, two weeks get the time off too bad. So he said Mikey couldn’t do that without an RV so we got a tent trailer and I’ve been slaving to make it nice and redo it. Almost done. AT any rate we are going -Dave is going on vacation (Unheard of!!) lol -I got us five days in Osoyoos and we will stay in the thompson okanogan AND I have an awesome pet sitter to look after the buns. Bahhhh I can’t explain how excited I am! I did want to take Dave’s new sports car, but since we’re towing we’re taking our truck….so but I’ll live lol-the car is more comfy leg roomwise would you belive it?
Where are you going this summer? OR what are you plans around the house?
YEAH I love summer *Sigh*
Yay! That sounds like so much fun! I bet Mikey is going to have such a blast with so many new things to smell. I love your camper idea too. I’m great with tent camping for about 3-4 days, but after that, just get me into a bed!
We not going anywhere this summer 🙁 We tend to avoid summer vacations, because it’s so hot out and everything is crowded. We’d like to go to Maine in September for our first anniversary, but I’m getting a new job soon and I doubt I’ll have the extra vacation time (even for a long weekend).
We do have a fantastic trip to the Bahamas planned for November with a bunch of friends! I’ll just have to look forward to that.
Sounds like a blast
I loove the Okanagan. I miss BC sometimes, need to go for a visit there again someday. Have fun! And don’t feel bad about being excited, I’m sure Chuck wants you to go have fun ![]()
oh fun!!! you def must not avoid being excited / happy… grieving is gloomy enough and you deserve to have break
i’m having a 2 night stay in a beautiful resort in northern ontario when my bff and step bro get married. aside from that i will also be camping a couple of weekends! yay! i will be tenting it with the dog and having a neighbor look in on the pinkster. some day i’d love to get a trailor… just a teeny weeny one big enough to lay down a mattress and store camping gear in. i looooove those silver bullet style ones but i don’t think i’ve seen any in a baby size ![]()
Exciting! I haven’t been camping in so long. It’ll be a nice break for you both
I’m going to visit my boyfriend in Los Angeles tomorrow. He moved out there to act in May (and has done pretty well getting lots of extra work).
Have a fun and safe trip!
Lolz…my idea of camping is in a full on RV with shower, bathroom and blowdryer…all the amenities…none of this pup-tent crap. ^_^ Haven’t been in ages.
Now that we have Jenna, and when my dear bunnies have gone perhaps and the kitties, maybe then we will travel again. Kids out of the house, that sort of thing. Until then…meh…too much trouble.
As it is, my daughter gave up on her trip Outside and is only finishing up this week, coming home Thursday. She was too homesick to stay the month with her grandma.
Hope you have a wonderful time! ![]()
Fun! I’m sure it will do you good to get away! I love camping. I might be going camping with some friends at our beautiful national park next month. Ricky has to stay home to bunny sit! It’ll be girls only! Are you staying in a park or in the woods? I love camping and ruffing it in the woods but there’s a bear population explosion so maybe not a good idea this year.
There are bears in the park too but at least there are other people around.
I’m also going to Vermont with Mom later in the summer. It’s an 8 hour drive. There’s a lot of horsey places there I want to visit. But I’m still thinking of maybe getting another horse so that won’t happen if I do. ![]()
Thanks guys! I’m even more excited, we’re going to go on the long weekend too
And the cushions are all done. Thank goodness for mom-I was busy with chores and she finished them. So now…well curtains and throw pillows when I get a chance…and that’s it
Maybe painting the outside

Both-we’re doing camping just in the woods (I think it’s called random or boondocking..?) on the long weekend and for two days during the two weeks, but the rest is split between provincial parks (roughing it) and private campgrounds that have pools and spas and wine tasting
The resort campsites are for Dave’s benefit bahahahh
There’s lots of bears here too-I read extensively on them-I can tell grizzlies and browns apart from tracks, face, side profile etc, and know what to do in the different kinds of encounters…plus we bought bear spray. Though if you play your music loud enough I think they might choose elsewhere

Of course you’re excited! Can I come? I haven’t been camping in years, barely did it then, and would love to, but don’t have someone to camp with.
I have vacation time off planned for July 4-12, but it’s just to rest up after this latest crunch of work. I don’t have much vacation $, and originally I had hoped to meet a friend from MA at the new Harry Potter Universal Studio park, but she can’t go. (At the moment, camping sounds better, though.)
I tell myself that I do live in a tourist destination, even though it’s off season and hot. So if I try a bit of research this week maybe I will make a few plans. At the very least I can go to the beach with a good book and get in some ocean time. You know how it is: if you live near ocean you miss the woods, and if you live inland you miss the ocean. Actually, everyone who works full time down here only gets to the ocean or fun spots when they have visitors and have to entertain them. Maybe Sammy would like a noodle to play with in the pool….

OK !!! It sleeps six and their is only two plus one doggie
PHEW!! I cannot tell you what it is like having a pet sitter you trust! I always had family and friends come and I’m not going to bother asking! Not only did we leave one day late last time so I was able to come and check up on her…lol…but my neighbors are snoops so I got a full report of when and how long she was here-totally reliable
So soo sooooo glad I have someone to come now!
LOL I have no vacation money-but I get four weeks off a year and I have a 800$ travel reimbursement so we’re going!! YEAH ..TBH If I lived in florida though I might not go far lol
Do you SCUBA dive pam? Florida has amazing diving in CAVES!! It’s not scary they have guidelines all the way through…plus disney and the keys… I could keep busy for years lol
But yeah I grew up on a lake and being so inland plus the lakes here are not swimmable (unless your gross!) so it’s awful-we get heat and their is nowhere to go swim. Whereas where I grew up it was …ten feet away…and nice…
lol ![]()
*Bump!*
I wonder if K&K ever came back from her holiday? ![]()
