There were so many cute little bunnies at the flea market this weekend crammed in little cages.  They were all soo cute!! I had my eye on this little guy and one other.  But, the truth is, I don’t know if i’ll ever be able to get one.  My fiance doesn’t really want one. We’re not getting married for a while but he only wans one pet, so it’s either a rabbit or a dog.  And I feel bad cause he really wants a dog.  Anyways, maybe in a couple of years, hopefully.

And here’s a pic of the little cutie! (this one looked really young, the rest were bigger. maybe he was just the runt)

Well, my husband didn’t want kids when we got married. It’s also entirely possible that I can’t carry to term so it wasn’t a big deal. (I’m also divorced with 2 girls already.) He changed his mind, maybe your man will too. If you get a bunny and a puppy at the same time maybe they can be friends?

Aren’t they just so tiny?! Well, things may change in the future. If you do get a dog as the main pet, perhaps you could consider fostering rabbits from time to time? Of course, you would have to be ready to give them up when they find a permanent home. There will always be a need for foster home though.

Rabbits are as much fun as dogs without all the hassle. No walks in the rain or at 5 in the morning. No one eating the trash and vomiting on your couch. I suppose the chew factor is the same though. Dogs are ok, I want one. It’s just that bunnies are so much better!

That would break my heart to see all those buns. And I imagine most of them get bought by people who are totally not prepared for the commitment. How sad. People shouldn’t be allowed to sell animals in places like that.

I wanted to take them all home!

My guess is some of them are sold for meat rabbits because the person that was selling them had all kinds of ducks, chickens, birds, and roosters. They also had goats, llamas, sheep, and other livestock. The man was really nice though. He was like, “Just open the cage and take them out and play with them.” Maybe they are intended to be pets. Who knows

Anyway, they sure were hard to resist.

Well, I’d like to say that I’m a dog person and have been for YEARS. But after adopting our late Trixie 5 years ago, bunnies will always come first. No question about it. Right now we have 2 dogs and 2 rabbits, and we just have a small house. My dog, Scamp, will be 12 yo in a few months and my wife’d dog, Frankenstein, will be 5 yo. When the unfortunate time comes and we lose them, I don’t have any plans for adopting new dogs.

IMO, bunnies make much better indoor pets than dogs or even cats. They’re

                      – clean
                      – quiet
                      – low maintance (as far as pets go)
                      – loving personalities
                      – SOOO adorable when they play/binky

And the list goes on and on.

Same here. We always thought of ourselves as “dog people” but since we got Remy, we are now “bunny people!”

No coming home from work, waking up, or going out in the rain for walking
                        Clean
                        Cuddly
                        FUNNY
                        Unique personalities
                        Easy to care for
                        Less expensive… well, at least a little ; )

                        Bunnies!

I was a dog person too. I actually wanted a dog about a year ago but the in-laws were all “no dogs, blah blah” on and on about how puppies are destructive and messy. I didn’t even blink, just said “what about a bunny?” They thought that sounded fine. I think my mother-in-law knows nothing about buns (she says she used to raise them for meat when she was younger, I was horrified) because when I told her I’d litter train my baby she was very shocked. She didn’t think having a bunny out of a cage was a good idea, but she didn’t say no. Little does she realize that Freya is probably 10 times the chewer any puppy could be, haha. She’s the dearest thing, and I wouldn’t trade her for the world’s cutest or best behaved puppy.

BTW, your dogs are adorable. Frank looks like a Frank, it’s really cute.

Poor buns! Hammer came from a flea market like that too, I felt so guilty picking just one knowing that the rest probably wouldnt be as lucky. I wont let myself go to a flea market anymore because I know ill come back with 10 new buns lol.

Aw that little bun is so cute!  Right when we got married my husband said he wanted to get a dog.  We almost did get a dog, we just wanted to know what kind it was and they brought him out (trying to get us to buy it I guess), he was so cute but once we asked how much we were like “No way!” well we had to convince ourselves that but glad we didn’t get him now.  I had a rabbit before (the family pet) so he was warming up to bunnies but once we got Archie he fell in love with bunnies!  He’s had a dog before.  He said he would never get a dog again, he thinks rabbits are so much better!  I’m glad too because as cute as dogs are, I didn’t want one.

Just make him hold a bunny and he won’t be able to say no
