Hi M,
The best for whom ? You or Georgia ?
I’m not saying you shouldn’t get another bun but maybe you need to give it more thought. If Georgia has medical needs that your Mother is currently paying the bills for then you have to take into account her very realistic concerns that she may not be able to pay the vet bills if a second bunny arrives and also has health issues. Even a healthy bunny is expensive with Speutering, vaccinations, flea control, food etc. Then there is housing, if for any reason they cannot bond you will need extra accommodation and even if they do bond your are going to need separate housing to start with. Are you in a position to help financially ? and I don’t mean a little bit I mean able to afford the big stuff.
I have 7 buns, 6 of my own and a foster. The day to day costs are almost crippling, I dread the thought that they would get sick as a group, even a pair being ill together would be a huge cost.
Really give it some more thought and if you are still determined then consider fostering for a rescue who will pay the vet bills and subsidize food costs, after a while you can assess and consider adopting the bun full time.
