I so want to move. Got woken up at 8 am by a guy in the apartment building knocking on everyones door… he was trying to find the owners of 5 cars in the lot that had just been smashed into by another person living here. 2 of the cars are ours… my new subaru and my hubby’s BMW m3. My poor hubby… his car got the worst of it ![]()
Oh my gosh!! I’m so sorry!!!! Do they know who did it-like so it can at least be covered by insurance?
*HUGS*
Its totally covered by insurance. HER insurance. The guy that knocked on our door had talked to her, said she smelled very strongly of marijuana, so she may even get charged for it. Siiiigh…. this parking lot hates me!
?!?!?! holy crap!!
i seriously hope they have insurance, cause they’re gonna need it. did they get after them with a baseball bat or did they hit them with their car?
you poor things.. that’s infuriating!
The smashed into them with their SUV. All 5 cars in the line. Like how does a person do that?? Just this past march we had an SUV crash into our computer room wall, which is why we switched to this building!
WOW. that’s the awful thing about apartment.. you’re in such close proximity to lots of people, meaning a greater chance for one of them to go crazy and do something stupid. i hope she does some time for that!
That is unreal! I would be so angry! Even living in a house, you’re not exempt from crazies… My aunt has a house and a LARGE front yard… some idiot swerved off the road and actually drove all the way up the grass (maybe 200 feet?!) and crashed into the front of the house! This was in the middle of the afternoon… thank goodness none of the kids had been outside!
I just hope she has enough insurance to cover all these cars…especially your M3. I hate to say this (cause I work in insurance) but if she has the absolute minimum liability someone may get screwed.
Yep, it sounds like you need to move!
Oh my gosh
Well on the bright side-at least some wonderful person stopped her, and let you all know. Going out to find your car smashed with no clue would be very awful.
I feel cheery today, so I can I share an inspiring story someone shared with me-that kind of reminds me of what happened to you? It’s like, well something bad happened, but really something good happened too (ie. this person didn’t get away with a hit and run-as much trouble and pain as this is-at least this person may get into trouble and it shouldn’t come out of your pockets)
At the beginning of my 8:00 a.m. class one Monday at University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), I cheerfully asked my students how their weekend had been. One young man said that his weekend had not been very good. He’d had his wisdom teeth extracted. The young man then proceeded to ask me why I always seemed to be so cheerful. His question reminded me of something I’d read somewhere before: “Every morning when you get up, you have a choice about how you want to approach life that day,” I said to the young man. “I choose to be cheerful”. “Let me give you an example,” I continued.
The other sixty students in the class ceased their chatter and began to listen to our conversation. “In addition to teaching here at UNLV, I also teach out at the community college in Henderson, about seventeen miles down the freeway from where I live. One day a few weeks ago I drove those seventeen miles to Henderson. I exited the freeway and turned onto College Drive. I only had to drive another quarter-mile down the road to the college. But just then my car died. I tried to start it again, but the engine wouldn’t turn over. So I put my flashers on, grabbed my books, and marched down the road to the college.
“As soon as I got there I called AAA and asked them to send a tow truck. The secretary in the Provost’s office asked me what had happened. ‘This is my lucky day,’ I replied, smiling. “‘Your car breaks down and today is your lucky day?’ She was puzzled. ‘What do you mean?’
“‘I live seventeen miles from here.’ I replied. ‘My car could have broken down anywhere along the freeway. It didn’t. Instead, it broke down in the perfect place: off the freeway, within walking distance of here. I’m still able to teach my class, and I’ve been able to arrange for the tow truck to meet me after class. If my car was meant to break down today, it couldn’t have been arranged in a more convenient fashion.’ “The secretary’s eyes opened wide, and then she smiled. I smiled back and headed for class.” So ended my story to the students in my economics class at UNLV.
I scanned the sixty faces in the lecture hall. Despite the early hour, no one seemed to be asleep. Somehow, my story had touched them. Or maybe it wasn’t the story at all. In fact, it had all started with a student’s observation that I was cheerful. A wise man once said, “Who you are speaks louder to me than anything you can say.” I suppose it must be so.

I don’t know-what happened to you reminded me of that story-so I hope that’s OK I shared it ![]()
Well out of all of them, the m3 got the worst of it. my car and the last one in the line didnt get it too bad, although I need a new bumper and a little body work done. the last one that got hit just has a tiny dent in it. but his m3 might even be totalled with the body damage it has ![]()
Oh my gosh! That is so infuriating! And especially after that SUV parking in your study… Poor you… and poor beemer… my mom has one, a 325ci (she HAD to have a back seat), so I know how much those things cost… the m3 is even more expensive! Yikes! I hope you can get all of that taken care of through HER insurance. On the bright side… no one was in the cars at the time!
oh man! how can some one take out 5 cars in a residential parking lot? that takes special talent. sorry this happened… car repairs suck. especially when they’re in addition to normal wear and tear. thank goodness no one was in any of the cars that were hit!
Well on the bright side, at least it wasn’t a hit and run. You have someone you can make liable for all costs related to the damage. She’ll also most likely get cited for fleeing the scene, so I’m sure she’ll get her fair share.
I once left my apartment at 6am and the apartment manager from the building across the street was waiting for me. He informed me that one of his tenants had taken off my front bumper with his car (I didn’t even notice it due to how my car was parked) and that he was currently inside and that there were police just down the street at a coffee shop. This guy stayed up ALL NIGHT waiting for me. He is the manager of a halfway house for recently released felons so I guess he didn’t want any issues but I would not have had the slightest idea who had done it.
I went to thank him properly a few days later but he had left the building. Apparently his parole was up and he could move on with his life. I hope all’s well for him.
Wow! So glad for you that someone brought it to your attention.
Good luck with the insurance.
MonkeyBun I’m so sorry. I just don’t have any good advice or comments, that just sucks. Hugs to you and your hubby. I hope she goes to jail.
Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so sorry Les!!!!! ARRRGHH!!! What crumby timing with the holidays
( I hope you didn’t need to drive anywhere far -.- UGHHHH. Time to move again?? SHEESH. Get some speed bumps in there!! Hopefully that druggy girl will learn her lesson…probably not. I am glad no one was hurt though and that everything is hopefully very fixable?? Poor poor Les ughhhh. (((Hugs))) Lets go sick some killer rabbits on her!
We’re driving down to Salem to hubby’s mom’s for christmas… my subaru is alright mostly, gotta replace the rear bumper and get the passenger side rear panel and tail light replaced, but thats it. I told hubby I want a house with a 10 foot wall around it thats made of tank material lol.
Just build a house underground. Takes care of everything!
