I Love My Bunnies To Much!

 Just kidding, I could never love them to much!

So here’s the problem, I can’t leave them! I used to be able to go places and leave them with the pet sitter. Of corse I missed them, but I could handle it. Now I go away for an all day trip or over night and I get to the point where I can’t enjoy myself because I am worried sick about them and missing them like crazy! It’s to the point where I don’t want to go anywhere! Our family is a big into traveling and I’m not sure what I’m going to do next time we leave! I know you guys would understand (especaily Amy right now) and I just need some advise. I can’t just stay home all my life and live like a hermit! 

For the last two years I have gone to a summer camp and I am thinking I wont be able to do it this year. I am really a family girl and can’t stand to be away that long but this year I think I would die without my bunnies! 

How do you guys avoid being a “hermit”? I would love to just bring them with me but you can’t nomally do that. I just LOVE them to much!

me but I do want to say I understand! I usually just want to stay home with mine rather then go places. I know they do fine without me, it’s me that’s has separation issues!

I know the feeling! People think I’m crazy because I have to be home to let the buns out by 6 if I stay anywhere! 7out of 10 times my buns are fast asleep still!

Same issue with me. I usually leave work around lunchtime to go home and see them and make sure they ok.. Most times they are playing or sleeping.. Every time i have to go out my husband and I think twice. Sometimes i would cry and we would have to go back home but that’s just how it is. They are our babies..

Glad I’m not the only one! I just don’t know how I am going to go on a fall trip this year up to Canada. I don’t think the bunnies would do well in the car that whole time. Then next year for 3 weeks in Europe! EEk! I want to go on these trips so bad but I want to take the bunnies with me!

You are young and you need to get out and see the world :~) I think if you have trusted caretakers for your buns, you shouldn’t worry so much!

LOL, yeah It’s been two weeks since the bunnies have gone! Not a minute goes by I do not think about them. It doesn’t stop me from living, though. I try to do things even though I miss them so much. When they are back I do not know how I will leave them, though!! LOL It’s really hard to be away from them. You just have to think, you will see them again and they will be mad at you for a little while because you left them LOL but everything will be okay.

Jersey: Yes I do. My anxiety was really good for about six months but has come back really bad lately which is most of my problem. My brain tells me that they will die when I’m gone and I will never see them again! That most likely wont happen but my brain is stupid. The hard part is that when my parents aren’t around I feel like people don’t “get” why I get so upset and think I’m just immature or something.

I have problems trusting people taking care of my bunnies. I am so afraid they will feed them those crappy treats or something.

If I stay busy I don’t tend to worry but once I get bored I almost start to cry. I hate having anxiety.

It’s no fun Mocha. Do you see anyone to help you with it? They can give you skills to help get past those feelings. You may have learnt these before but sometimes we need a refresher!! Talking with someone who knows why it happens and how best to deal with it – like a counsellor/therapist. You said you were able to manage it before and I think you can again but anxiety can be complex and it helps to have a professional help muddle through it with you.

Jersey: Yes I did see someone before I moved, but since then I haven’t. Thanks!

Next trip I go on I want to have a few webcams so I can look at them any time and make sure their ok. I think it may calm my nerves a little. Does any one know of any good webcams that would work? I know BB has some.

I am also thinking that I will take the bunnies down to where I used to live to my friends house. They already told me they would keep them in their basement (only place their would be room as they already have like 5 bunnies of their own). I think having someone take care of them on their normal schedule would comfort me more. I only worry that they might feed them something they should have (like some of their bunny treats). I think if I told them not to, they wouldn’t. Their trustworthy.

I’m the same way right now. We going to be leaving Sunday for a week and I’ve come to terms with that, but Wednesday night, neither of us will be home overnight and I’m seriously considering taking Foo to my parents with me because she’s never been alone overnight since we’ve had her.

They are away being bonded, STILL.  I had no idea they would be gone this long, but I knew it might take a while.  Hopefully they will be home soon, though.  Things are looking good.
