They did pretty good, but I’m glad it’s over. It took 7 days from door to door.
Lilly stopped eating almost immediately (just bits of litter and cardboard), but bounced back after three days on the road. They got into a horrid fight the second night. Jeffrey bit almost through Lilly’s lip, but she didn’t need stitches. They were separately immediately, which is unfortunate because I want them to comfort each other through the ride.
Jeffrey is in a terrible funk, she’s just not eating well. She’s picking. In fact she’s reminding me of a rabbit that’s lost her bonded mate. I don’t want to take her to the local vet because the car ride will traumatize her further. She’s eating just enough to keep her gut moving, if her appetite doesn’t improve in a couple of days I’m going to seek out a vet that does house calls.
I’m just glad we’re all in one piece. Today, I have to make another long drive down to Boston. My cat and 4 hens are flying…. the definitely got the better end of the deal!
