* That’s “humour” spelt the British and Australian way ![]()
Anyone seen this before? I just watched it. I have tears. Many tears. ![]()
That’s so great! I am posting it on my Facebook.
Bahahaha. That was fantastic!
Isn’t that the proper way to spell humour? And honour…and colour?…and why is my flipping spell check going off?? *smacks*
I admit, when I was younger and a good friend of mine during our high school years tried to initiate us all into the love of Monty Python, I thought she was mental. But I have to say, having gone only part way through this, already quite a few of these animals would be good candidates for the Ministry of Funny Walks.
<3 <3 <3
red dwarf…
OMG I’d forgotten about Red Dwarf. Hubby used to watch it religiously. lol….
Loved Red Dwarf. Pretty sure there were some re-runs showing here. I’ll have to look again.
Our public broadcaster here airs lots of British shows. There was a series one called Creature Comforts that did claymation talking animals. Very amusing!
The above video is from series Walk on the Wildside. I hadn’t seen it before but I’m going to be tracking down the episdodes I think! “Alan” is still making me giggle.
I’ve seen Creature Comforts as well. Very Wallace & Grommit. It used to show on Disney Channel here.
Another fun one is Shawn the Sheep. If you’re into the claymation stuff.
Haha, I actually own every season plus the specials for Red Dwarf… and Fly Circus… and Blackadder… and Fawlty Towers (a much smaller set than Flying Circus, lol)… and How to Irritate People… and the Hitchhiker’s miniseries, I’m a bit of British humour nut. I also watch Skins and Coupling on amazon. My boyfriend has the british version of the office, but for some reason I was never quite able to get into it.
And that clip was amazing.
LOL! I saw that a while back and showed it to some coworkers. We spent the entire shift quoting it back and forth to each other. “night time!” “day time!” and “allen” were pretty much the only words spoken for a solid hour!
I love british shows. I watch Peep Show (not really sure if that’s british or canadian though) on hulu and a whole lineup of shows come on our public channel each night. Friday nights are The Red Green Show (again, I think that’s canadian?) and Dr Who. Sundays they play Keeping Up Appearnaces and Vicar of Dibley. I guess there aren’t many episodes or pbs doesn’t have rights to many because I’ve seen every one 1000 times.
I watched a few episodes of Skins, I like it but never finished the season.
Do you guys watch the IT Crowd? It’s a great one!!!
HAHAHAHAHA! That was priceless!! I loved watching Mr. Bean he was my fav!
Psst.. Red Dwarf is up on Netflix streaming ![]()
Do you guys watch the IT Crowd? It’s a great one!!!
Yep : D. It’s not airing here now & I haven’t seen all episodes. We have one series on dvd.
Loved Coupling also. lol I watched that back to back on dvd. There was also a series on with all female comedians (comediennes?) called Smack the Pony. Again, I only caught some of it but it was hilarious.
I got curious and just searched various names on bunspace (Baldrick, Rimmer) None.
I would totally use those names!
I just made DH watch this and even he laughed – he never likes British humor when I try to make him watch it (with the exception of some Monty Python and the Holy Grail once in a while)
I was talking to a British co-worker the other day (I really need to send him this video) and I was telling him how my high school friends and I talked in Monty Python quotes. I remember a time at a chain restaurant when two of the girls went running around – one pretending to ride a horse and one making clip-clop noises behind her. lol
Heh, I had a fellow grad student who was British and look more than a little like Harry Potter. After a friend of mine and I had a few drinks we’d start talking to him in Monty Python quotes with bad british accents, he liked it a lot. lol
If you have amazon prime you can watch dang near every BBC show that’s about two year old or older for free. At least for me their streaming works waaaaay better than netflix. But some things I just like to own because I’m sort of compulsive that way.
Red Green is a must every Saturday night here on PBS. My daughter loves it, even though she’s seen them all at least twice over. During our “Golden Days” festival in Fairbanks, there’s a Red Green Regatta held on the Chena River that runs through town. At least one person sinks every year and that water is DANG cold. 0_o;;;
Love Dr. Who. Always have, always will. They’re playing the Donna Noble story arc again since we just saw the first part of the new series with Doctor Eleven, Matt Smith…and they never just go on to the newest episodes. I really don’t like him as much as David Tennant, but I’m warming up to the new actors because to not do so will mean not watching the show at all.
I have yet to see the classic killer rabbit from Monty. What’s everyone’s favorite skit?
Just one word….SPAM.

It IS the proper way of spelling. In Canda we spell those words with the “extra” u added.
Here in the states, you don’t want to confuse them young’uns with all them extra letters, ya know. *facepalm* I swear, the states are just trying to dumb down everything.
Monkeybun: I dnt no what u r tlkn bout! LOL JK 😉
Mimz: I’m totally with you on the dr who thing. I LOVE david tennant. I think I saw him in a very short clip of a movie trailer yesterday and almost fell off my chair trying to catch a glimpse of him! I haven’t watched many of the new ones either. That new guy is just so… Idk.. Twitchy? I can’t stand him but I have been assured that if I just watch them I’ll end up loving him.
OMG, what movie trailer was it, is it something new? I still have Hamlet sitting here on DVD since my players are all kaput, I’m dying to see him in it.
I know he was in Goblet of Fire as Barty Crouch Jr. He was supposed to have also voiced a character in How To train Your Dragon.
Other than that, I don’t know of anything he’s starred in of late…except to host things like Masterpiece theater. He needs to get back into a regular series.
I can tolerate Matt Smith to a point, he honestly talks too fast for me to get much of the dialogue in the new Who, and Karen Gillam is no help with that thick Scottish brogue of hers. I think if he were on his own it might be better…maybe just the way they play off one another is what’s annoying.
I like the kid who plays Amy Pond’s bf/hubby…Arthur Davril? He’s delightfully vague. lol….
Hey, be nice to the states! The reason we spell things differently is because of Webster and Johnson. Webster wanted to give the US its own identity and changed some of the spellings. Some of Johnson’s spellings were ridiculous anyway (he tried to over simplify).
I watch Peep Show (not really sure if that’s british or canadian though)
The Peep Show here is with David Mitchell (Mark) and Robert Webb (Jeremy) living in London, I love that show. Some other great shows are green wing, black books and the it crowd.
Doctor Who is perhaps the best show EVER created! I loved, loved, loved, Tennent but I have to say I love Matt Smith too. I went into his season(s) with loathing, how could he ever live up to Tennent? Tennent oooozed The Doctor! LOL! It took a bit for him to grow on me (and my boyfriend too) and now we love him. I think his relationship with Amy works and I love the bowtie!
Ditto. But I have to say, I wish there could’ve been something like an honest to goodness Doctor Who Movie…like how everything else has gone big screen. But it would have to be with David’s Doctor. Matt is okay, just not who I imagine as the Last of the Time Lords. I think his chronological age plays a big part in it. He’s just too boyish. Perhaps if he were a retrospective Doctor, but not one of the last incarnations. (He’s supposed to only have 13 total rebirths, right?)
Christopher Eccleston was also excellent. I wish he’d done a few more episodes as well.
I know there was a rumor going around that the US was trying to make another movie and was throwing Jonny Depp’s name around as the DR. I’m sorry but if there is going to be a movie, I think it’s best left to the Brit’s. Matt has grown on me because he was so different. I loved Chris too! He was like the “black sheep” bad boy-ish type, lol!
This video has become a favorite around my office! One guy runs around yelling “Allen! Allen! Al! Allen!” (personally I can’t figure out if the groundhog is saying Allen or Ellen)
Another guy says “Night time …. day time!” every time he passes. LOL We’re so strange.

Oh God Forbid! That man has enough money! I don’t doubt he could pull it off, but …no….just…no….

It would be great if the Brits could do it, but I think a full length movie would need Hollywood’s special brand of ….whatever it is they do to make movies blockbusters. Of course, they could totally spoil it for everyone too…the marketing alone would be insane.
hahaha… I’d not seen that one in a while.
Canadians add ‘u’ to everything as well, I wish there was a Canadian version of Spell Check it would make things a lot easier for me.
I LOVE British Humor, and own every single episode of Monty Python Flying Circus and each of their movies. And I’m not old enough to have seen them when they first came out either! lol…
