        Hey there!

My holland lop bunny (almost 5 months) has this weird hump inbetween her eyes and covers up till her eyes. It doesn’t look injured or anything but it is definitely something that had grown out of her as I can feel her meat/bones when I touch it. It doesn’t hurt her when I stroke that area but in fact, I think she might like being pet there the most..?

She’s had this for a while now but it’s starting to look more obvious and so we’ve been getting a little nervous about it…

Was just wondering if it’s just a natural growth of a holland lop’s forehead or it’s something I should get looked into by a vet.

I’ve attached a few pictures of her face so that you guys can get a better understanding of what I’m talking about:’)

        Please help… Thank you!!

          She is just gorgeous!

To me it looks like a moult line, where the fur has grown in differently. If you google ‘moult line rabbit’ you’ll see some similar examples.

Can you feel a bump or lump under the skin? I’m not sure what you mean by meat and bones. Does the skin look normal underneath the fur?

Of course, in most cases, when in doubt go to the vet! But if there is no raised lump under the fur, and the skin looks normal, I would say it’s just a moult line.

            Hi Sirius&Luna!

Thank you so much! I just searched up rabbit mount lines and it’s starting to make me feel a little better XDD

Regarding the lump, yes there is a bump under the skin but it is across the entire darkened area where the moult line is…

We will be sending her to a vet as soon as we can though since we caught her sneezing quite a bit earlier today too even though I tried to water down her hay:’) hopefully the vet will be free for a visit without advanced booking tomorrow so that we can get her checked up asap)

            Once again, thank you!!

They do have rather bony foreheads The fur pattern is a molt line and perfectly normal. But after reading your post I felt my mini lop’s head and there’s like a ridge in the middle of the forehead and between the eyes and above the eyes there are bony like eye brow protrusions. So difficult to explain
(A mini lop in Europe is almost the same as a US Holland lop).

                Hi bam!

Ahh thank you so much! I think that really makes me a lot less worried XD yes I think that’s the best way to describe her protrusions X) thank you!
