Hello!  My name’s Lauren, and I’m quite new to bunny keeping, which is why I decided to join this place. I have two very young female bunnies, just 9 and 7 weeks old. Their names are Alice and Precious, I adopted them both just this month. (They’re both in my profile picture.) Alice is all black, Precious is white with black splotches. They’re both very sweet!

Welcome Lauren!  Alice is positively adorable and Precious is absolutely precious (haha) .  I hope you learn a lot on how to be a good bunny mom from here, I know that BinkyBunny helped me a ton.

            Welcome!

They are very cute! <3 Since you are new to the world of bunnies, I recommend checking out the "Bunny Info" tab at the top of the page. There is lots of great info on housing, diet, behavior, finding a vet, etc.

7 weeks is quite young to be away from mom. It would be good to have a check up for them with a rabbit savvy vet to discuss proper diet and make sure they are in good health.

I also just wanted to mention that baby bunnies are very difficult to sex accurately, so don’t be surprised if you end up with a male and female, or two males! On that topic, you’ll want to separate them at 12 weeks to be sure you won’t end up with a litter! In any case, if you plan on bonding them, you’ll want to get them spayed/neutered when they are old enough. Even if both are females or both males, they will often start fighting at puberty (like all siblings… haha), but spaying helps temper their hormones so they can happily live with another bun. In females, spaying is also important to protect against reproductive cancers, which have about 60-75% prevalence by age 4.

That said, females can’t be spayed until 7-8 months of age, so you have time to plan and just enjoy snuggling with them!

Awww they’re adorable! My baby’s name is Alice, too!!! Although, she’s all white and she’s a little troublemaker just like Alice from Wonderland. (Which is where I got her name from)
