Howdy! I am Perocore! I am a teenage boy in high school who has a less-than-manly love for rabbits and other small and furry things.
When I was 10 years old I asked my parents if I could have a rabbit. They told me to wait two years, so I spent those next two years researching breeds and care. I finally settled on getting a dutch rabbit, and our local pet store happen to get a litter of blue dutch rabbits in just on my 12th birthday. I picked my rabbit out- the others were all piled on top of one so I just asked for the one on the bottom of the pile, and that is how I ended up with my beautiful baby girl, River.
I’ve now had River for five years! So now we have three rabbits, River, my 5 year old dutch doe (unspayed because I don’t want to put her through the stress, she wouldn’t handle it well), Charlie, my 2 year old spayed doe…breed is not known but she’s a 15 pound girlie, and Snip, the neutered 4 year old dwarf/dutch boy. River seems to be well aware that she was my first rabbit, so obviously she deserves more love and attention than the others, haha. She’s a spoiled thing, and very proud, but she loves to be held and snuggled and just enjoys spending time with me and other pets. Charlie is affectionate, in her own way. She’s kind of flighty with people, but will settle down and let me snuggle her every now and then. She loves to play tag and peek-a-boo. Snip is my sister’s rabbit. He’s a cutie, very sweet, but also very grouchy at times. I’m not allowed to pick him up- he bites me- but he loves my sister to pieces.
I decided on rabbits because I wanted a small pet that would be affectionate with me. I’ve always loved animals, as I grew up (and am still growing up) on a small hobby farm. Animals fascinate me- watching them learn about us while we study them, watching how they interact with one another…they interest me so much that I am now, at the age where you’re ready to apply for college, looking for a school where I can get a major in Animal Science, specifically studying companion animals and behavior. Besides animals, I also love reading and writing sci-fi, comics, drawing, web design, dancing badly, and making gluten free food.
I don’t have any recent pictures of Charlie or Snip, but I do have some of my River;
