My bunny Peanut is about 5 months now. She has always been eating pellets and hay. I want to introduce her to other types of food but she always runs away when she see it. I tried banana and strawberries. Also gave her a plate of parsley but she just left it untouched. What is the best way to get your bunny to eat other food. Thanks.

Firstly I have a bun called Peanut too

Bunnies are notoriously picky and sometimes need to be offered something several times before they decide to try it. Even then sometimes they won’t try something new right away and prefer to eat it in their own time – when I first tried romaine, my bunnies wouldn’t eat it right away for the first couple of times but I left it overnight and by morning it was gone. The third night they gobbled it immediately

So don’t give up yet, pick something fairly bland like romaine and just offer a little piece and if they don’t take it, leave it for a few hours. Try again the next day. Make sure you are starting with small pieces tho (rather than a whole plate as that can overwhelm their tummies) If no luck after a week, try something else. I would avoid fruits for now just because you don’t want your bun to get too much of a sweet tooth

aww what color is your bunny? Ya I find my Peanut is a very picky eater. Even for the hay we tried a few brands before she found one that she likes. I will give romaine a try.

My Peanut is all black but with greyish colouring on the bottom of his paws Both of mine are complete fuss pots in regards to hay so I totally understand the search for the perfect hay lol.
