Guys, I have got bunny fever really bad!!  Ever since I saw a blue flemmie at the pet expo for adoption from the bunny bunch I have been thinking about it and really want to adopt him!!  I personally cannot have another bunny because when I move I will need to take them with me and three I think would be a limit.  Anyway, my mom on the other hand….lol She can adopt one! Oh man, SEE?!  This bunny fever needs to be under control!  But I really want another bunny…..I actually would like to bond Marley to a different bunny because I don’t think he and Rascal like each other at all but idk.

How do you deal with bunny fever???  I can afford another bunny and I might be able to put it in the playroom so I have money, time, and space for another one…..It’s just the fact that when I mooooove!  lol  I know a bunny forum probably isn’t the place to post this because you all might encourage me to adopt another one! haha

        What should I do, honestly?

It’s so bad that I even emailed the rescue and asked about the blue flemmie!  Oh man….

I am honestly considering putting off my tattoo (that I have wanted for a loooong time) just so I can adopt a new bunny.

        Anyway, HELP?!

          Back away from the bunnies!

Flemmies especially are very popular, so he will get a home! Wait until after you move, and see if you can wiggle another in then. in the meantime, give your 3 lots of extra snuggles in penance for considering a different master

trust me, bunny fever 100% non treatable. I’ve gone through periods of time lately when I just want to go back to the shelter and take them home with me.

I’m of no help at the moment, I’ve been wanting a flemmie too, or a Californian… Or some other large breed…  If I had the money and could find one that got along with the trouble buns, I’d totally get one.  Sorry, I’m no help.

Well, I would never ever break a current rabbit bond – that would be totally wrong! I imagine that Rascal and Marley like each other just fine and it would not be responsible to break them up just because you feel they don’t like each other – if you already have them in a trio then let it be.

It sounds like you know you are at your limit as well.

My opinion is to enjoy the 3 you have. They should be enough.

Does your Mom want a blue Flemish giant?

If you’re looking for a cure or treatment, try bunny sitting. Ones you know have a home to go back to. That will give you more insight of what having extra will be like. Especially keeping them in separate habitats.

Sarita: They aren’t bonded and I would never break a bond with bunnies. I know it’s wrong. Sorry if I wasn’t clear.

Jerseygirl: My mom wants a pet but I don’t think a blue Flemish giant is of her interest. haha Maybe I could bunny sit. That would be nice. I don’t know anyone who has bunnies, though. LOL

I just look at the giant mess they have made of their room and I realize two bunnies is plenty 😀

As strange as this sounds, volunteer at a rescue. At first the fever will get worse but then you’ll realize that you could never give them all the love they all possibly deserve with one of you and 20 of them and realize it’s only fair to the ones you have to spend your attention on them. That’s how I do it. Plus playing and brushing and all that other good stuff at the rescue kinda feels the need to love them all, ya know?

I would definitely not stretch yourself too thin! You also have unexpected vet costs to think of… 3 bunnies is actually a lot in my opinion, especially when they’re not all bonded together. I hated cleaning 2 separate cages, I really wouldn’t want to clean 3+ cages!

I totally appreciate the saying, “you can’t save them all.” Your responsibility first and foremost is to the ones you have.

I also know that many of us have a “bunny wishlist” in our heads of who we might look for *someday*, but this list also changes from time to time. In a year, you might say “nah… A blue flemmy isn’t for me!”

Yeah, I think this thread has helped. I know I can’t get another bunny, especially since Marley is not yet bonded to Rascal and Valentine AND there are vet costs too. I have to take all three of them to the vet this year for check ups. Marley needs his teeth checked again just to be sure they are okay. I think they are fine but just to be sure I want to take him in. Then the other two just need annual check ups. So yeah, vet bills is a great way to look at things. Three buns is enough…for now. =P

                            Thanks so much!
