I’m currently feeding Toby a 1/4 cup at night daily. Is that too much? I heard some people feed their buns only a 1/8 cup when they turn 6 months. I’m currently feeding the Sherwood Forest pellets. Should I start giving only 1/8 cup?

I don’t know if other members would agree with me (hah) but I just take a small handful of pellets for Sam & scatter them down for him – I don’t ever measure.

It depends on the size of the rabbit. How much does Toby weigh, do you know?

The ideal ratio is 25g dry food per 1kg weight. So my bun is 2kg, he should get 50g of pellets (1/4 cup or just over).

Not sure how much Toby weighs but I’m pretty sure he weighs around 2-3 pounds. He’s now 7 months so I think he should get an 1/8 cup. Does anyone agree?

Bombur and Asriel both weigh 4.5 pounds and I still only feed them 1/8 cup a day.

I give my 2-3lb bunnies about a tablespoon each a day (or a small handful between the 3 of them)… It depends if he’s eating enough hay, but 1/4 sounds like a lot for such a small bunny. Personally, I see pellets as more of a diet supplement than a staple – it’s important so they get the extra nutrition but shouldn’t really be a major portion of their diet.

My rabbits get a tiny amount of pellets – barely a teaspoon of probiotic pellets and 2 fibafirst sticks.
