If you click on the Bunny Info tab at the top of the page, and then look at the “food” section, you can get good guidelines about what and how much you should be feeding your bun – just because it depends on the age of your bun, and the weight. Your bun is old enough to be introduced gradually to fresh green and other veg and small quantities of fruit, but parsley is on the limited veg list, due to the high content of oxalic acids (sp??). So I would suggest… a few sprigs??

The bun experts will probably chime in (I hope) with better wisdom than what I have to offer.

I don’t have the answer to that question, but I would keep an eye on Jet’s poop as an indicator (not sure if that’s how it’s done). I say this cos I have noticed softer poops when I introduce too much of a new green into either of my rabbits diet. Parsley gave one of my buns a soft stool, which is not normal for my rabbits, so I feed very little of that, and sparsely. I follow the vege list on the BB website, and also try to keep the oxalic content low. My vet told me to reduce the amount of collards for my younger rabbit because she produces more silt in her urine (I think), so we are temporarily off of that vege. I mention it just in case you run into something similar in the future.

I agree with what the others have said. Go slow. You want to start with a little bit -1-2 sprigs, then you wait a day or two and see if there’s any change poop-wise. If not, you can go on and test another green or give a few more parsley sprigs. If you notice sth untowards after having fed your bun a new veg, cut that veg out from the diet for now, and try another one. Young bunnies don’t have a fully developed bacterial flora in their intestines yet, that’s why you should go slow and let the tummy adapt to the new food.

Parsley has a high oxalic content but it’s also a diuretic. You can give parsley, but you shouldn’t give it day in and day out. It’s in any case good to provide your bun with rather a broad range of vegs – you can rotate vegs on a schedule – that way he’ll get a little bit of this nutrient and a little bit of that but not too much of anything.
