› FORUM › THE LOUNGE › How much does bunbun weigh? (:
I’ve noticed, by looking through pictures and what not, that my rabbit is a good deal, er… larger… than most.
In fact, he’s overweight x__X But even if he fit the healthy rabbit profile (not quite so round! xD) I still think he’d be rather large.
Tank weighs 9 pounds.
How much do your rabbits weigh? (: Just curious.
Monkey is 1.5 pounds, Smudge is close to 3 pounds, and Moosie is just shy of 4 pounds ![]()
My rabbit Mr. Bunny weighs somewhere between 6.5 and 7 pounds, although he is a little overweight (which I’m working on). My other rabbit, Ms. Rabbit, weighs just under 3.5 pounds.

They must be so small! I can’t even imagine O__O Can you pick them up in one hand?

I can almost hold Ms. Rabbit in 2 hands when she’s crouched up, and I have small hands, so I’m sure it’s possible to do with a 1.5 pound bunny. ![]()
Myyy goodness. I definitely have to get both arms around Tank and hold him against my chest. My hands alone don’t cut it xD
When I’m carrying around Ms. Rabbit, I usually just wrap my arm around her back/butt and put my hand around her chest. It’s great to have one hand free while carrying around a bunny. ![]()
Pacey weighs 3.2 lbs Walter is still technically a baby so don’t know what his adult weight will be but he weighs exactly 3 lbs.
3.5-4 pounds.
nikka is 6.5 pounds and rorschach is 7 lol. I’ve been limiting their pellets because I don’t want them to be overweight… but they inherited my appetite and they eat everything and anything!
Yeah, if Monkey didn’t wiggle, I could hold her in one hand
Bisto just under 5.5 lbs, Oxo just over ![]()
Meadow is just under 4 pounds, Max is just over 5.
On the rare occasion I have someone “new” over to my house, they are generally shocked by how LARGE my rabbits are. I think people have been conditioned to only view rabbits as teeny, tiny, puffy babies that never exceed a pound. When faced with a completely average rabbit, they think it’s HUGE! I have to tell them that my guys are on the smaller end…
Otto is 4lbs and Hannah is 5.5lbs.
Beka, I’ve noticed people are always surprised by Hannah’s size – maybe it’s because they were conditioned to Otto’s size first, but they always comment on how huge she is! I always explain that 5.5lbs is pretty average and that there are much larger buns out there.
4 pounds and a few ounces. That’s Dutchess, by the way. Not me. lol!
Merry’s an overweight 3.8lbs – the vet wants her at 3.2. Although, that was in October so maybe she’s lost weight.
It just seems so odd that 3.8 is overweight!
Well 3.8 is almost 3.9, which is a smidge close to 4 pds, which would freak out your vet, so at 3.2 your bun would be so close to 3.1, which is just a fur shake away from 3.0, which would please your vet =p lol
Half a pound is a lot of weight for a tiny animal!
LOL you’re right – it is a lot for a tiny animal, but it still just blows my mind! I wish I were only 1/2 lb overweight lol
pinky poo is 8.5 or 9 lbs. can’t remember which is correct. either way, she is the largest bun bun i’ve had ![]()
I am the opposite of Beka and Elrohwen’s friends.
Whenever I see a rabbit that is about 5 pounds, I think it is so small because I am used to my porker! <3! But I've read that average is actually about 6 pounds for a rabbit–I'll assume that leaves outliers out of the equation, such as the flemies.
Zeus is about 10 pounds. 10 or 11.. I can’t remember.
Fluffy, what type of rabbit is Monkey? I knew he was small, but now 1.5lbs small!
Smokey is 3lbs : ) She had a weight problem last year because she was so cranky without pellets and I just gave into her. I also found out there was corn in the pellets and she loves corn like we love candy/chocolate, so she was very pudgy. Now that’s she’s on 1/4 a cup or less of the right type of pellets a day with unlimited hay, she has dropped the weight : )
Frankie is about 5-6 lbs. I have his actual weight on a vet thing somewhere, but I’m too lazy to move haha
Stormy – 3,6 lb
Olivia – 3,12 lb
Bindi Loo – 5,0 lb
Bindi’s my “big” snuggle bunny.
Oreo is 4.5 lbs, Blu is 2.75 lbs…
At least that is what they weighed before we moved in with their grandparents who sneak them carrots!!
because “they look so hungry!” lol
Oh and people always think they look huge too…funny that they are really on the smaller end like was already said!
I just weighed Ms. Rabbit today. I guess I can’t call her “my tiny rabbit friend” anymore. She weighs over 4 pounds! ![]()
The last time I had Bindi at the vet I was in the waiting room with him in my arms and a lady came over to look at him (because he’s so cute, of course) and she said “oh, wow, he’s a really big bunny.” I said “actually he isn’t. He’s only 5lbs. There are breeds that are over 15 lbs!”
A lot of people seem to think rabbits are tiny because that’s what they see in the pet stores. Most pet stores don’t have New Zealands or English Lops.

And most pet stores have babies too! Babies are so itty bitty, but even a little baby can grow into a 10 or 15 pound-er.
Oh, the baby stage
People believe that the baby will stay small forever.. which is not the case ![]()
Lolli weighs 6-7 lbs. I need to get her to lose weight again. Heck, we BOTH need to lose some weight. LOL

Monkey is mine, not Fluffy’s ![]()
She is a purebred nethie, but was the runt of her litter, so stayed tiny. My little pocket bunny
Lucy was 9.5 last time she was at the vet. Perfect health, not overweight. Just a beast of a bun ![]()
