  The mismatched pairs thread got me wondering. How many fur kids reside in your home? I am almost obsessed with making sure everyone in our house has a ‘friend’. We have 5 dogs, my Shih Tzu/Bichon being the smallest and my Bullmastiff mix the biggest. My daughter has 2 gerbils, who sleep in a cute little “pile”. She also has 3 guinea pigs. And then of course my two buns. Here are pics of my one big happy-paired-family!!

  Your animals are beautiful!! Zip has a beautiful face and I love Salty and Skippy together. I just love the gerbils too – I had them almost constantly from age 8 until just a couple years ago when my last one died.
  
  Currently we just have the two buns, but I’m planning on getting a puppy next spring! I can’t wait!
  
  Here are some gerbil pictures, just because I miss them.
  
  This is Rowan (the light colored one) and Somerset, aka Summer. They were a pair of sisters I got junior year of college. They came with me to Connecticut, but Summer passed away shortly after we moved here. Rowan passed about a year after that.
  
  And these are, from left to right in the top pic, Oliver, Sebastian, and Rory. I got them soon after I moved to Connecticut and the last one passed in late 2009. Rory was the best gerbil I’ve ever had and would sleep with me on the couch – he was so trusting and calm. The other two were little buggers, but they were cute. When Oliver died, Seb and Rory decided they hated each other and I had to split them up 🙁 The bottom picture shows them all right when I got them – Oliver and Rory were litter mates, and Seb was from the same parents but a later litter so he’s smaller. I miss having gerbils! When I have a kid I’ll definitely get the kid some gerbils, but they’ll realy be for me They’re just so funny!

  Ahhh! They are so cute Elrohwen! My daughter got her first fur baby (a hamster) when she was 4! But she has always been very mature for her age. She was so gentle with handling her and made sure she had food and water. I, of course, cleaned out the cage. She has had about 7 more since then and now the gerbils and piggies (she is 12). The gerbils are her favorite!

  I enjoyed seeing all the gerbils, and guinea pigs, and dogs, and bunnies, and….Thanos.
  
  I have 2 furkids – my lionhead bunnies Dustor, a sable point and Petie, a little sport Vienna carrier.

  I have the two bunnies right now..
  
  For nostalgia’s purpose, this is Fitzgibbons. I couldn’t take him with me when I transferred schools, but now he’s in a big giant aquarium at my friend’s house. This was when he was with me though!
  
  And my two hamsters, RIP Beaver and Buster. They had a cage but I left it open so they could jump in and out as they pleased. Lol.

  I have Arthur, my lionhead bun. He will have bunny bond buddy in the coming months (Octoberish). Then I have Harry my chihuahua, who is temporarily living with my dad. That’s all the furry furbabies I have. But we also have Leah our leopard geko and soon we are going to have a snake (ball python), unsure of the name yet.

  My husband and I are “chomping at the proverbial bit” to get a dog… BUT… at this point the reasons to wait far outweigh the reasons to go for it… so we wait.

  Two of our cows were orphaned this year and a gift to me from my neighbor I hand raised them both and love them to peices!
  
  The calf in this pic is wearing a winter blankie is Rebel he was born to a very sick mother in winter and did not survive the birth and what ever she had was trasmited to Rebels joints I had many sleepless nights bringing him back from the point of no return with many calls to the vet to ask if I was treating him right.
  
  He had swollen painfull leg joints that needed constant ointment and wraps and needed tube feeding ever 4 hours and penecillin shots in the neck 2x a day I did it all on my own and now hes a healthy 6 month old bull loving life and going to be our new daddy bull when hes old enough!
  
  This lil one here is sweet pea! In this pic she is 1 hour old! She was orphaned because her mom was to old to care for a calf She is a lil fireball!

  Thank you. We think he’s mixed with Husky, or some other spitz-type, because his tail curls across his back. He’s about nine years old.

  Heinrich reminds me of my neighbor’s dog growing up – his name was Bear and he looked very similar, except with longer fluffier fur. He was just a big mush of a dog 🙂

  I am so jealous!! I would love to have a farm full of animals. My husband wants to get some acreage, but then he looks at me and says “there will be no stopping you then!” LOL!! I love animals and woud rather be surrounded by a bunch of them than people! I love the picture of Thistle!

  I just love looking at everyone’s fur-babies! I have a fondness for small critters as I had many hamsters and guinea pigs growing up.
  
  I’ll never understand those people who have no pets. They are really missing out.

  I love Stormy’s markings they are beautiful! hes such a handsome bun! Thistle looks so different hes more of a charcoal grey and lightly splashed with tan except his face thats the boldest tan patch he has! I think Harliquins are very unique when it comes to patterns
  And Winnie can move into my barn anytime! All my boys would drool over her! lol

  we have 4 roborovski hamsters, Cinnamon, Meats, Ayn and Tofu and of course Cinnabun the one bun. I don’t currently have any pictures of them on this computer :/
