How long does it take for a rabbit’s incision to be fully healed after a spay surgery?

My lionhead girl Luna is one week post-op, and is also a picker/chewer. She’s currently wearing the sleeve of one of my shirts around her middle to prevent her from opening herself up. I’m not sure when it’s safe to take it off. I tried a few days ago, and after five minutes she was chewing at her incision. She has a follow-up appointment in two weeks…does she need to keep it on until then?

Help! How long did it take for your bunny to fully heal?

There were spots on Charlies belly that didn’t grow back in for what felt like a month or two. it was ridiculous. i was wondering if something was wrong with her, but eventually it grew back in. not sure if that’s the norm or if she just healed super slowly. fortunately she didn’t try to pick at her incision so it was fairly easy even with the hair not growing in.
          Quick healing wishes!

The incision should be mostly healed by 10 days after the op – my vet does a 10 day check, so I assume that is when they expect it to look good by.

Is your check two weeks after the op, or two weeks from now?

How does the incision look? Does it look sore, red or raised? Or is there just a clear scar?

Luna’s (my bunny is also a Luna!) fluff didn’t grow back on her belly for ages, so just a lack of fur isn’t worrying.

Thank you! That’s super helpful info. I’m not worried about her fur as much as I am about her incision healing. I’ll keep the sleeve on her until day 10. The visit is 2 weeks after her spay date.
