How can I tell if my Male bunny was Neutered?!

I adopted a male Lionhead cross from one of my neighbors before she moved a quite some time ago. She told me he was neutered but she lied about him being litter trained and she lied about him being a pure bred lionhead (he’s almost double the size/weight) so I was thinking she lied about this as well.
Is there any way to tell if he was neutered without taking him to the vet? Tried looking under there but he’s WAY too Fluffy.

Unneutered bunnies normally have fairly obvious testicles, BUT if he’s super fluffy it might be more difficult. Can you try holding up a treat and getting him to stand on two legs then having a look? If he doesn’t mind being picked up you can also hold him firmly but gently with one hand around his chest area and one on his bum, and flip him over to have a quick look.

That said, I always recommend a vet check with a new bunny They’ll be able to check their teeth and give them a nail trim if needed, and will be able to advise on correct diet and whether any vaccinations are needed in your area

I will add that she may not have “lied” about him being litter box trained. He could have been litter box trained at the old owner’s home, but not at yours.

A litter box trained rabbit is sort of conditional. A rabbit doesn’t naturally feel inclined to go where plastic boxes are placed randomly in a room, so him being in a new environment with new scents, he needs to learn what and where his new litter boxes are, then you need to teach him and reinforce that. He may not readily make the connection. It’s not uncommon for owners to mistake that litter box training is a permanent thing. For some rabbits, they’re great at carrying it over, but not all.

I’m actually moving in a month and know I need to begin litter box training for Wick in that space right away.
