So while the bunnies and I were away water got into the carpet of my apartment and sat there for quite a while. When I came back the entire apartment smelled damp which makes me think there is the possibility of mold. Right now the bunnies won’t come back until Wednesday but if there’s mold, will 4 days be enough for the mold to go away to the point where it won’t harm the bunnies?

In general, how bad is mold for bunnies?

Can you clean the carpet? Mold found growing on walls or carpet usually isn’t harmful. BUT you never know. A bunny could have an allergic reaction or have a bad reaction (just like people).

Right now I’m still waiting for the carpet to dry (stupid humidity…). What would I use to clean the carpet? I’ve never had to worry about mold before.

I would think steam cleaning would do the trick as long as everything is dried thoroughly afterward. Otherwise, you could try using vinegar on the affected area.
