It is nice getting to meet people on BB here. One thing I always pay attention to when meeting someone is how they take their tea or whatever. It is like a piece of personality. So what do BB’ers drink as hot drinks?
My standard would be a long espresso with two creams and no sugar or sweetener.
Hot tea, splash of cream (on Atkins) and splenda (must have one cup when I get up and one when I get to work)
I’m not a huge hot drinks fan, but either hot chocolate or herbal tea with nothing in it.
One large black coffee with an ice cube first thing in AM. used to take non-dairy creamer in it, but switched to soy with the diet and blech.
After that, it’s only cold drinks; coke 0, crystal light or water.
Used to drink coffee with cream and 2 sugars.. but then coffee gave me headaches. So now for hot drinks, its either hot chocolate with tons of mini marshmallows, or tea with a bit of sugar
…sometimes I’m bad and have a mocha though… >.>
gasp! mocha! jk! i like hot chocolate! but thats it!
Nonfat mocha or pumpkin spice latte (around fall) It has to be decaf though….I don’t drink anything with caffine. My husband and I also love Sleepytime Tea with a little honey in it at night…very relaxing.
My standard would be coffee…black. Nothing watered down, I like it strong.
I also like tea, herbals, chai, and others…ever had cocoa chai? Made by good earth – it’s a great replacement to coffee when I’m trying to cut back… But that too, I take plain.
And you’re right on Petzy, it definitely is a reflection of me in many ways…
I have my coffee with either sugar in it or hot chocolate mix in it
Also I use the instant kind and my favorite flavor is hazelnut.
For tea I just like a little milk and sugar in tea.
The only hot drinks I like are hot chocolate or Tea with 1/2 tsp of sugar
I don’t like any coffee or anything with coffee in it at all ever blech
I can’t stand coffee, but sometimes I’ll drink a skim mocha frap, no whip from starbucks. It’s more like an ice cream than anything, lol. I don’t like tea either so it’s just hot chocolate for me. I much prefer diet mtn dew or diet pepsi or juice – any kind of juice will do as long as I don’t have to chew it (meaning no pulp!!!)
I like vanilla flavored coffee or lattes.
But, I am also a HUGE fan of hot, or COLD green tea.. xD
Decaf. tea with 3 spoonfuls of sugar
(I’d be too hyper if I had caf. tea with 3 spoonfuls of sugar!). I also like green tea, and a some flavored tea. I’ll have hot coco in the winter but it fills me up so I don’t drink that too often.
Iced coffee-lovely
I like fruity herbal teas, black chai, and earl gray-black teas with milk and a little sugar
Though I love the smell of coffee, i am not fond of the taste for some reason and it makes me extremely jittery — too much caffeine for my system in one sitting. (though I’m sure i would get lower or no caffeine if I liked the taste more)
I also don’t drink alot of hot drinks as I always feel rather warm, and I’d rather cool off, however, I do actually like tea and I have a lot of selections to choose from… so when it gets cooler, I normally will grab a cup of tea.
I love coffee w/cream & sugar hot and iced, tea with sugar hot and iced, chai and hot chocolate with whipped cream.
I love hot drinks. There is something so comforting about them. Other than those I really only drink room temp water.
Fave hot drinks: strong coffee with milk (cream?) and 1/2 tsp sug, strong tea with same, milk and sug. Hot chocolate and or Milo (malt&choc drink) and sometimes even a “moffee” instant coffee with Milo. I also like the fruit teas, peppermint tea, black chai. When out I like plain coffee or a latte or sometimes Irish coffee. I’m not real keen on cappucinos.
Every now and then I have a cuppa tea that I call a “shearing shed tea”. For some reason a cup can taste just like ones from my childhood. We would help out at shearing time and one of the highlights was sitting on the floor for morning tea with the shearers. We got to have sweet tea in kiddie cups. It was the only time we were allowed to have it. So sometimes a tea takes me straight back there. The noise and smells, sheep poo and wool, the sweet tea and yummy cake….ahhhhh! I love how food, drink and some aromas can tap into a happy memories.
Just for fun, has anyone here got a talent for reading tea leaves? ![]()
BB, my mom buys coffee that has half the amount of caffeine in it.. and it tastes wonderful. Can’t remember the name of it tho >.<
Favorite would be french roast black coffee…nothing in it or on it! I get into tea in the wintertime & go for the spice-type flavors & “sleepy time” from Trader Joe’s on occassion…but LOVE my coffee
!
Coffee is always welcome…even when it’s 80+ F outside. Need that jolt to get my brain to be something more than mush.
I like cappuccino…but I haven’t found anywhere (even Starbucks) that makes it very tasty. So I usually get a Java Frap or if I want hot coffee, a mocha. I like the pumpkin spice too…and I miss the banana drinks they used to make…haven’t seen those in awhile.
I am a Snapple Natural Peach Tea addict. It’s Pip’s fault, she likes to play with the boxes.
Any herbal tea is good. And I should drink more of it instead of the coffee, but… *shrugs*
hot drink would have to be hot chocolate. Once when I was out of town and at a marketplace I had some hot spiced cider and that was really awesome.
cold drinks- I drink water with a little fruit juice added. yeah, I know it is weird. But to reduce my sugar intake and increase my water intake- it works. And it is tons cheaper than buying Vitamin Water, etc all the time. I just don’t like the taste of plain water as much- so I fill my bottle and take it to work with me and to the barn with me. I do love fountain pop every once in a while though.
I was recently introduced to a new treat. Try taking clear black tea without sugar and having spoonfuls of very sugary red jam on the side. It is fantastic.
I love hot spiced cider! I love cider anyway hot or cold. I like teas and hot chocolate. Maybe an occasional carmel mocha latte at Starbucks, I only usually get it when I am traveling at an airport or am out shopping (ie not that often!)
I rarely have pop. I am a water drinker. That is all that I drink. I always have a large cup with me, everywhere. Next to my bed especially.
I work at home and I work evenings and nights, so I usually get up about 3 p.m. and do my “day” stuff and do errands or make phone calls if needed. Then, I get something to eat and put on a pot of coffee for the night. I usually drink a whole pot of coffee through the night. I like mine with 0% milk and 3 packets of sweetener. I make it to the point where it’s sort of a light brown color. Yum!!
Now I want my coffee!! HAHA
that’s what I find, too, hot drinks can be such a ritual.
I couldn’t do fat-free milk… I love my 18% cream…. ![]()
That jam and tea sounds so yummy!
I make and bring coffee to work every day because it’s so expensive to buy at Starbucks – I mean really, the money they charge is outrageous! But when I do want to treat myself to a Starbucks it would be a soy chai latte.
Otherwise I also love the Republic of Tea tea’s and hot chocolate too. I love hot drinks. Prefer them over cold ones unless it’s white wine.
My usual morning fare is chocolate milk, and sometimes I make it into hot chocolate.
At the summer job I had 2 years ago, I drank a vanilla chai every morning.
Strong decaf coffee with milk and a teaspoon of sugar!
I will have 1 or 2 pumpkin spiced lattes in the fall – total splurge – Love them!!!
Tea is great but more of an afternoon thing for me. There are so many wonderful kinds!
In the winter it is fun to make up some glugg! (Hot spiced wine)
In winter, I adore hot chocolate mixed with jamaican rum ![]()
