So this morning I arrived home after a terrible night at work ( Im a paramedic and if you’ve ever seen the show jersey shore I work in that town btw those people arent really from this area lol)  well first I check on sofie and there was noting unusual she was happy to see me and then same with cady…well after I got their breakfasts ready I brought sofies in first and found she was having soft stool mixed with regular cocoa puffs, it was almost like she held it in until she could use her larger litter box.  Then after dealing with the clean up I came in to lay in my bed and was greeted by Cady which is our normal morning ritual except today he decided to pee on my shoulder!  ugh hoping this day gets better because Im already forseeing no sleep.  well on a good note Cady apologized with lots of kisses then flopping right on top of me.  Im just hoping sofie is ok, I think it could be because Im trying to switch her pellets and maybe she was sensitive to it…unless its possible for hormones to effect that (shes been very hormonal) but otherwise shes eating and being very active…

Oh no! I hope your bunny is fine, and I’m sure she will be. How long was she on the pellets before you started trying to switch her?

awhile i believe.. ive been mixing small amounts of the new with the old, but things seem to be hardening up, i think shes been ignoring her hay so i took away the pellets for now, im also curious if it has anything to do with her being sooo hormonal…

Hmm, hormones could play a role in it. If her stool’s hard and she won’t eat hay, try giving her fresh veggies with water on them? If you don’t already, I suggest giving them Bok Choy, they love it! And its super juicy on the inside and rinse it off so the leaves will have water. Oh, and if you are mixing the pellets, you should be fine. But maybe smaller amounts for more days? Just so her tummy has extra time to get used to it.

It could definitely be the pellets. Otto got poopy butt from eating a couple bites of Hannah’s food, which was half Kaytee and half Oxbow at the time – he couldn’t have had much of the Kaytee, but it was enough to upset his tummy.

I hope your day gets better! That sounds like a really stressful job during the summertime especially.
