My husband and I had to let go of our senior bunny last night (cancer) and it’s just so tough. Even at 11+, she still had energy and loved food, and her and I often had girls’ nights after everyone went to bed (we also had two dogs that she loved). She was free-roam but came out more when it was quiet.

Anyway, just wanted to post here among other bunny lovers who really understand the pain. Through all the years and the trials (dental issues etc.), she was so sweet and cuddly, and I keep forgetting she’s not there waiting.

She loved bananas (in small doses of course), laundry day when she could run around the drying rack, and good, long cuddles. Here’s to you, Clover ❤️

I’m very sorry for your loss.

It really is tough to lose one’s rabbit. Rabbits are the essence of sweetness and sass combined. To get to have a bun for a friend is a great privilege.

Clover was beautiful 💗 Thank you for giving her a long and wonderful rabbit life, filled with love and cuddles and bananas!

Thx for the kind words 💓 She def was very loved. And I think, one day, all the great things she taught us about bunny needs will help us care for another that needs a home.

Thanks 🥰 We always found that her blue eyes were so pretty, and I have a friend who always thought it looked like she had pants because of her dark bum and legs haha

Your words echo our own heart, as we lost our almost 12-year Bonny last Wednesday.  Yes, the pain is SOOO wracking.  Like you, I keep forgetting I cannot check on her.  Like you to your Clover, we loved Bonny VERY much.  I am so very, very sorry for your loss.  Your bunny is beautiful.

Thanks so much for the post reply 🙂 I’m also sorry to hear about Bonny, but sounds like she was also well-loved and that you took care of her every need. The days are getting a little easier over here, but we do really miss getting rabbit cuddles. They’re just so special. Whenever it’s time, I have no doubt that my husband and I will look to welcome another bun.

I’m so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful bun she was, and what a wonderful life she must have had to make it to 11. <3 I think we bond even more strongly with them in their golden years, which makes it that much harder when they’re gone.

Thanks so much 💜 She was just so sweet, and you’re right that deep bonding happens with seniors. Her and I were so close after all the years and some health scares, and it was really special for sure.
