Hello everyone,
I joined the Forum today after absorbing as much information as I could find. I am hoping to add a BunBun to my growing Family. At the moment my Family consists of myself, the Fiancés, our Lab named Duke(11) and our 2 cats Kato(2) and Kuna(11).
I have been around Buns that my childhood friends have owned and I always found them delightful other than 1 I met. A female Dwarf named Shale. She was kind of stubborn and slightly evil I must say. A “my way or the highway” kind of gal. Growling, charging and cage guarding as well as the boxing you when you went to pet her.
I find myself researching rabbits for more personality and laid back ness as well as I find myself looking at the BIG BIG rabbits (less likely of losing the thing in my house lol & more child hardiness) . So far my Rabbit of choice is a Flemish Giant. I’ve also looked at Continentals but as I research I am finding they are hard to find outside of the United Kingdom. So at the moment I have decided on a Flemish Giant and preferably a male. I am also thinking free range house bunny at this point except for nights where it will have a condo for his safety.
My Fiancés has given me permission to get one but mentioned not right now
So at the moment I am dropping hints and fun facts 
If any of you would like to drop some wisdom down feel free!

A new flemmie-how exciting! I do hope you will share piccies when you do end up getting him.
I had a very aggressive female for a time and that was definetly due to not being spayed. After her operation, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say she was the sweetest, most loving. cuddly bunny I have ever met. As for convincing the hubby, you just gotta be subtle…..”it’s only one more pet”….”but look how cuttttteee!”…… Then take him to a shelter “just to look” and convince him “but this bunny neeeeeds me….”
Works for me… but my hubby is a bit soft, ha ha ha! Good luck

TWR— I can totally relate about walking a giant bun and a dog! Imagine the stares ha ha ha! Because people associate bunnies with Netherland dwarf or Holland lops, (both tiny breeds) they don’t expect to see big rabbits! My bun is 8.5 pounds (although her fluff does make her look a little bigger) and she was in her cage recently on a trip to the vets. I had the windows rolled down because it was hot. We went through the drive through at McDonalds to get a drink and the girl who was the drive through Cashier started exclaiming “Wow what a HUGE rabbit! It’s so cute!!” and when we were pulling out my mother turns to me and says “Now what do you think people would say if you walked one of those giant rabbits (Continentals or Flemish) with your dog?!” (my dog is only about 7-8 pounds)
