        Hello everyone!

So I am Kell.  I currently do not have a bun but have wanted one for a long time, since before high school.  I am getting ready for one as I plan to adopt over the summer or within the next year!  I have been looking for a spayed female Holland Lop.  I guess this is partially because I fell in love with this female brown Holland Lop bunny in the pet store (They were not supposed to have bunnies! They never do!) and I did not have the means to get a companion bunny yet ( I live in the dorms until next year…it would not have done to get in trouble in a place that would not suit a bunny overly much-too many annoying raucous people!).  i have been to shelters but not one bunny has really caught my attention yet with their personalities.

My fiancée decided that he would like a companion bunny but this is primarily for me since I would love to have a companion bunny for years to come seeing as how I end up spending copious amounts of time at school away from my hometown.  This being said, I will consider the bunnies needs and feelings before moving since it depends on a lot but it would only be about three times.  Once to and from campus and the third being to a new campus for graduate school.  Unfortunately, graduate schools for forensic anthropology do not exist in overabundance and this would have to be a move that lasted a couple days but would end up at a house for the bun to run around in.  I do plan on living where I go to graduate school unless another city needs me.  That being said, I am a bunny person.  Not a cat or dog person.  I can be but I have loved bunnies since I was little and have always enjoyed spending time with them.

Sorry for the slight drifting in topic but I am just excited about gaining a companion bunny.

        Sincerely,

           Kell

              Welcome!

Bunnies make excellent companions when in graduate school, and I know mine has dealt with moving quite well! I got him when in my undergrad, and we’ve moved 5 times since I got him, and he takes a 3.5 hours car ride home with me for breaks still. He’s dealt with all the changes well, so I wouldn’t be overly worried about moving.

Can’t wait to hear all about your journey to getting a bunny companion!

Thank you all!  I do not mind the bunny taking over my things and I am happy that car trips might not be something I have to worry about.  More so, I worry that the bunny I have found is not a bunny I can get.  Of all places, I never meant to think of finding a companion in a pet shop.  Shelters need help!  Plus just to think about rabbitries makes me sad.  I was only looking for specific healthy foods and grooming supplies for buns in the only pet stores we have in town and until 2 weeks ago, I had no idea people bought rabbits more around Easter.  That sickens me.  Either way, I met this brown Holland Lop that ended up doing a bunny flop in my hands and then proceeded to groom me.  Also the personality was stellar and exactly what I was looking for in a bunny companion.  Yet I had to leave because I do not a full go with my parents, I still live with them over the summer holiday and even though they would never have to do anything and/or pay for the bunny, they forbade me to have a bunny.  The bunny I met makes me think that I should go back no matter what because no other bunny in the over 200 I have visited and tried to get to know has topped how I get along with the one in this town.  I must sound ridiculous but I am almost sure now that I should go back.  Or at least buy them timothy hay because when I went there was none.  Not to worry overly much (at least I am trying not to), there were signs of hay and they had no health problems that I could tell of: i.e. no runny, non-clear eyes, no matted or un-clean fur (also no feces or urine caked in hair), no hoc sores, nothing in ears, or any respiratory problems or discharge from the nose. The mini rex and the grey holland lop did not want to come near me.  Sorry, I will stop because this makes me sad and you probably do not want to hear how I think I passed up this one among others.  Thank you again!
