Hi everyone! I’ve been looking around for an active, friendly house rabbit thread and this seems like a great place to start!
I guess I’ll start by introducing my bunnies, since that’s what we’re all here for, right? I’m the proud bunny mom to 3 Holland Lops and 1 Flemish Giant. All 4 live in the house. The lops stay in two big cages in the back bedroom during the day, but get let out every night after work and stay out until bedtime. Sometimes they get out during weekdays if my husband is off work and they usually get Saturdays and Sundays out as well. My Flemish lives in the living room and he’s out MOST of the time. He’s got a section of the living room that’s all his, and he has full run of the place when we’re home and awake. All the Hollands are neutered/spayed, and the Flemish will be as well, within the next few months.
Hershey is my oldest bun, he’s been with me since September of 2010 – He’s the most relaxed, easy-going guy ever. He likes being held, doesn’t mind being picked up, sits still for nail trimmings and baths, and generally is the best bunny ever.
Snickers has been in the family since July 2012 – He’s a little more feisty than Hershey. He’s an escape artist and is not afraid to jump from any height. He’s my daredevil.
Pocky is my only girl and she’s been with us since September of 2012 – She will jump right out of her cage if you turn your back for more than a few seconds. She is definitely the most energetic, but she’s also the youngest of the Hollands, so I guess that’s to be expected. She refuses to leave her igloo right side up for more than a few minutes after cage cleaning, and instead insists on it being upside down and full of hay.
Our newest addition is Toblerone, aka Toby, the Flemish Giant. He’s just 2.5 months old and is already bigger than everyone else. It’s fantastic. He loves a good phone book, and generally spends his time flopped over on the floor in the living room or shredding the yellow pages, much to his delight. He’s also a pretty big fan of laying on the couch and watching BBC America with me.
As for me, I’m 30-something and married. Also a mom to 3 guinea pigs, a dog, and a cat. I love horror movies, British television, books, and dolls. I collect BJDs and spend more money a year on doll clothes than I do clothes for myself. I also collect vintage My Little Ponies and She-Ra figures…and I’m trying to write a book.
Not nearly the end, but enough for now! If you want to know anything else, feel free to ask!
