› FORUM › THE LOUNGE › WELCOME ! › Hi! I am a brand new bunny owner x)
You may call me Sue if you want to (: and this is my bunny, Main Tank:

Humm, let’s seeeee… pretty much, all my life, I’ve had dogs. (: I don’t think I’ve gone more than six weeks in my life without a dog until I moved away from home. We’ve had everything from Great Pyranese (excuse spelling (: They’re BIG dogs) to a bichon. But getting a dog didn’t seem really practical on a third floor apartment for someone like me, who is so against paper training.
And I hate cats. x_X
So! I read all about bunnies and found that they seem really quirky! I adopted this guy (Tank for short :3) from a shelter. He’s almost four years old, and today is my first day with him! Since I’ve never had a bunny before (or even seen a pet bunny in real life) I thought I better join a forum. :3
But don’t think I did this on a whim! I’ve read for hours and hours and hours about rabbits before I went and got one.
ANYWAY, I look forward to learning from the bunny verterans! Thanks guys! ^_____^
Welcome, Sue! Tank is adorable, thanks for the pic. Look forward to more. I wish you a wonderful, long, happy union with him! Can’t wait to hear all about him.
Welcome again (i replied to your other post). I hope you’re finding having a pet rabbit lots of fun. They are quirky!
Thanks for adopting Tank. Older bunnies and black bunnies are often overlooked in shelters by potential adopters so Tank was lucky you picked him. Or he picked you maybe!
Thank you so much lash! I can’t wait to tell you all about him! Haaaah! As well as read more about other bunnies. They are such funny things. Funny like strange AND haha.
@Jersygirl
I saw that you replied to it, I really appcreciate your help again.
Is that right about shelter bunnies? I guess I can see why someone might think they would be closer to a rabbit they get nearly at birth, or maybe it’s just that baby bunnies are so cute. I thought it would be kind of a nusiance, to be honest, haha. x) Besides, I wanted to know exactly how he would behave, without worrying about him changing when he grows up. But I can’t figure it out… why not adopt black bunnies? Is that really true?
Sue, yes, youre exactly right; the babies are so much easier to adopt. I think people are still under the misconception that bunnies only live a few years like a hamster – NOT true, the can live to be 10 years, with proper care
From what I’ve heard from my HRS, the REW (red eyed white) ones are the hardest to adopt because people are scared of them or just plain don’t like the look, I personally, like the REW, my first bunny was one. But I’ve also heard that large ubiquitous looking black dogs (ie, lab mixes) are the hardest dogs to adopt, so maybe the black thing carries over to bunnies too. Sigh.
Anyway, welcome to the forums! You’re going to have so much fun with Tank!
And the people on this forum aren’t half bad either ![]()
Welcome! I love that you adopted Main Tank too and that he’s an adult. Kudos to you.
So, tell us a little bit about the name Main Tank – did he come with that name or did you name him?
Welcome! Thank you for adopting Tank! He’s such a cutie! Is he a mini rex/
Welcome! He is very cute ![]()
Oh…. I guess I might kind of be afraid of a red-eyeed rabbit… maybe… I guess I haven’t seen one before. :o!
Okay! Some more information on Main Tank x)
He is supposedly a Havana bunny, but as I stated in another post (teehee) he weighs so much xD Too much to be a Havana bunny, unless he is in some real trouble! I will take some better pictures of him and hopefully it can be determined if he is too fat.
When I adopted him, his name was Luna, which I didn’t like at all. Main Tank is a video game reference ^^’;
I know well the role of a Main Tank… I play a bear druid in WoW, and a resto shaman as well.. gotta love the MTs ![]()
Welcome! I also got into bunnies because it wasn’t the right time in my life to get a dog, just like you, and I love them! I still want dogs some day, but I could never live without a bunny or two around. They’re awesome little pets.
I can’t wait to see more pics of your little guy.
x3 I have a soft place in my heart for BE tankadins xD Did you name your bunny anything WoW related? Haha xD
@Elro
Thanks so much! X)
Nah, my 2 bunnies are named Monkey and Moose lol.
I have a BE tankadin in the making.. she used to be draenei, but switched to BE months ago.. and promptly forgot about her >.>
That must be rough. xD BE chicks don’t look very impressive in plate ;O;
Where could I see pics of the buns? :3
