Hi all! DDBuns here. I’m a mama to two funny bunnies, Sammy and Daffodil.
Sammy is a male black polish about 8 years old. We adopted him from a coworker about a year ago who had been keeping him in a hutch in her garage his whole life because her daughter was allergic to him. When she told me about him and saw how sad I got, she said “well, you can have him if you want” and I said “when I can I pick him up?” We picked him up two days later! He is my husband and I’s first bunny. Sammy is a very expressive bunny and has adapted quickly to being spoiled rotten! I call him “my sweet boy” because he is very affectionate and LOVES being pet, but he is also a naughty boy. If I stop petting him and he wants more, I get a nip. If I’m in his way, I get a nip. If I have to pick him up, I get a nip once I set him down. He is also not very litter box trained, but I can understand that since the hutch he lived in for most of his life did not have a litter box.
Daffodil is a female blue torte lop about 2 years old. We adopted her last May from a local rabbit rescue. Daffy is a spunky, yet lazy girl. She doesn’t really like human touch and HATES to be picked up. Sometimes she lets me rub her head for about 3 seconds, and then retreats a few feet so she is comfortably out of arms reach. She likes company, but no touching! She is happiest just lounging in the corner. I think her favorite things are lounging and eating.
Sammy and Daffy are neutered and spayed and WERE bonded up until a few weeks ago… I will be posting about that in the Bonding forum. Sammy has suddenly decided that he is a meanie so now they have to be separated until we can re-bond them.
We have another fluffy butt in the house: a 10 year old pomeranian mix named Melody. We adopted Melly from the humane society 7 years ago. She loves the buns.
My husband and I are also expecting our first baby this summer!
Say hi to Sammy and Daffy!
