Hi there,
My husband and I have today acquired our very first houserabbits.
Both our bunnies are (supposedly) male. Major is 8 weeks and is a black dwarf lop. Frankie is 11 weeks and is a brown and white dwarf lop. We’re waiting for their personalities to come through and we haven’t let them out yet, but we picked Major because he was totally unfazed by us when we first met him and so far he’s taken the whole “new house, new life” thing in his stride. He’s dying for me to let him out already, he keeps pressing his nose between his bars when I come up to him. Frankie is less extrovert, but I hope he’ll become a little more outgoing in time.
We live in a sizeable flat, and despite renting, our landlord has let us have rabbits. My husband would dearly love a cat, but we’re not in the position to have one yet, and having spoken to our local pet shop we were recommended house rabbits. We decided to get two because I didn’t want one to be lonely if we are busy. We originally arranged to have Major and his sister, but his sister died last week before we picked the bunnies up, so the breeder paired Major with Frankie, who is from a different litter. (I’m nervous about this arrangement, but that’s another story.)
My whole family, think we are mad. I am looking forward to proving them wrong.
This is my best picture so far.
