I’ve used this site and read the forum for quite a while now without being a member and thought I’d finally join! This is an awesome bunny community – I had a concern and posted a question, and got replies within the next few hours. You guys are the best!

I have had 4 bunnies in total, starting with Pippin and Pebbles in the fall of 2017. They were the best of friends until around 6 mo., when they started getting a bit nasty towards each other, so I scheduled a neutering for them with a vet who we’d met before. They took Pebbles first, and during his surgery, his heart stopped and they were unable to revive him. This was just before his 1st birthday.

So Pippin celebrated turning 1 alone. We all bawled our eyes out. It still hurts, but we know it wasn’t our fault, and the life he had with us was a happy and comfy one.

In the fall of 2018, we decided to add 2 more bundles of fluff to the family! We decided to keep up our P name tradition (we were seriously considering Poop Machine for one of them) and decided on Pep and Poirot. Pep because as soon as we got home, he proceeded to zoom around at the speed of a race car; Poirot because, like Agatha Christie’s Hercules Poirot, he has a mustache. No, seriously. Perfectly placed right between his nose and mouth, and perfectly symmetrical too, is a black mustache.

Currently all the bunnies live in separate x-pens with tons of fleece blankets, hidey houses, and toys. As the prince of the kingdom, Pippin has 2 connected x-pens as his dwelling, which make for a nice, spacious palace.

I look forward to meeting you all!

Remember, when you’re happy, STOP, FLOP, and ROLL OVER.

Hi and welcome. Its very nice to meet you, I’m new here too. So sorry for your loss. I’m just curious if you are going to get your other buns neutered and bond them eventually? I keep seeing these tragic stories and it has me a little scared to spay my Marinette. Do the benefits really outweigh the risk? She is an only bunny for now, unfortunately I am not able to get another one at this time. If and when I can I am going to go to a rescue so the bun will already be fixed and I wont have to stress over it.
