Hi! And HELP

Hi everyone! My name is Brittany and recently my little sister passed her bunnies on to me as she couldn’t take care of them so I am now the owner of 2 bunnies!
Growing up we had rabbits but they were outside and pretty laid back with everything. These are indoor and much more involved and I’ve been going crazy trying to remember everything! I love them dearly but I’m hoping this will help me feel more sure about things!
Anywho, introductions:
(These are not exact because I only know what my sister told me)
Willow (brown) and Luna came from an Amish family we know and were born sometime in Febuary 2017. They were with my sister from the time they could leave mom (I still think they were taken a little early) until about 2 months ago when they came to stay with me! I believe Willow is a mini Dutch and Luna is a mini Rex? I think.. They are happy, silly girls that are sassy and cuddly. ?
I’m an infant room teacher so I take care of babies all day and then come home to take care of these goofs so my life is pretty exciting!

I’ve been out of the bunny game for a while so any advice, tips, help would be great! They are in a small cage that my sister got when she first got them but it is much too small so I’m currently working on getting a new cage so any of those tips would be great!

i’m not nearly as experienced as other people on this forum but i figured i would share a few things that i do with my rabbit that help keep things in order.
first of all, i don’t know if Willow and Luna are litter trained, but if they’re not you can easily find out how to do so. it’ll save you from cleaning up lots of urine and poop whenever you let your bunnies out. my bun either isn’t completely litter trained or her litter box is a tad bit too tiny – i’m getting a new box just in case – but because she tends to sit outside of the tray when she’s eating hay i put out puppy pads. she did tear them up when i first started using them, but dropping a toy in front of her when she did it and constantly picking hay up and putting it back in the rack stopped her and now i almost never see her chewing them. i replace the pad whenever it gets peed on.
another little thing i do – i pick up her poop using a sock. i just put a sock over my hand and use it to pick them all up. it doesn’t make a mess, i can easily carry them to the garbage, and it doesn’t stress out my bunny like using a vacuum all the time would.
speaking of vacuums – i don’t use one. i don’t know what you use for your buns to walk on, but i use rugs, so i bought a carpet roller thingy that doesn’t have an engine. you just roll it over the rug and it picks up a surprising amount of hay, fur, and debris. i did originally use a vacuum to clean with, but the quiet one i used just stopped working one day, and later on i got a gecko who could drop his tail if he got startled, so i decided i wouldn’t use one from then on.
that’s all i can think of at the moment. maybe these tips will come in handy someday?

Rabbits have been mix-sexed before, and people ended up with unexpected litters, so you have to be really certain that these are both females. Rabbits can reproduce at a very young age. Even if they are both females, at their age, they will need to be separated. They will very soon be entering puberty. The hormones that brings can mean attitude and aggression, which can lead to fighting. Rabbits can severely injure each other if they fight. Females can be spayed when they are around 6 months old. Find out from your vet when he or she prefers to do this. You will need to find a rabbit savvy vet for them. Then after their surgeries and a few weeks have passed for the hormones to level out, you can start the bonding process. Right now, they just have a temporary baby bunny bond.

Willow looks like a Dutch or a Dutch mix, since her fur pattern isn’t uniform. Luna does not look like a Rex. Her fur looks too long and she doesn’t have the short, curly whiskers that a Rex has. Rex fur is very short and velvety. They are both lovely bunnies.
