Hi everyone! Channy here.
A bun had been hiding in the refuse pile at the construction site that is going to be my boyfriend’s family’s new house. The minute we saw her, she came *right* up to us. We rang doorbells in the neighbourhood to see if anyone was missing an escape artist pet, as well as checked with local animal shelters to see if anyone had called looking for her. After two weeks of silence, we took her to the vet to have her looked at… Sadly, based on how young she was when we found her (vet figured less than 2 months), she suspects Socks was probably the lucky one out of an unwanted litter :c
In the process of trying to find her home, we fell in love with her, and we have now been Bunny Butlers for the past couple of months. I still check papers, shelters, and “lost” sites regularly, but I’ve definitely found myself being pretty greedy and hoping that no one is missing her…
We will be getting her spayed once she’s gotten to about 6 months/is big enough. After coming out of her shell, she got herself labeled a Lil Sweetie, all about snuggles and playing. She lets out her inner Trouble sometimes, but it’s more just mischievous play than anything!
We’d been dreaming about adopting a dog when Socks turned up… Suffice to say we will not be looking into that for a long time, now! A family friend of ours that is a Bun Addict talked us through Bun 101 for feeding her, etc, before we decided to keep her, and even after knowing everything that it takes to raise a healthy, happy bunny we decided that she was just so wonderful that we would do everything it takes for her to have the awesomest life imaginable.
A few of my friends have teased me, saying I have “new mother syndrome”.. I guess I have been taking a lot of photos of her XD Most are on my phone, here are a few that I’ve gotten onto my computer:
