Hey! My name is Whitney. Lily is my bunny! I’ve had her for around a week now! I have read SO much on how to care for her but decided joining a forum of some sort is probably best, because I still have LOTS of questions. My brother and I owned rabbits when we were fairly young and didn’t know much about them or how to care for them properly. So, this time around I want to do it right! She is a Holland Lop and my boyfriend got her for me. I believe she is around 8-10 weeks old, but I am not for sure. I have her in a large habitat at home and travel with her in a wire cage. The habitat I have has a plastic bottom. Today I placed a larger litter box in the big habitat because she is still training and can’t decide which corner she wants. So I placed a larger, deeper box that goes from corner to corner.
We live in Texas and are open to any and all advice, tips, pointers that will help us out!
Hi, Whitney and Lily!! Welcome to Binky Bunny!!! Congrats on your new adorable bunny!!!!
Hope you enjoy Binky Bunny! This is the best place to get started on bunny care info, through the Forum and also the Bunny Info section. You should also visit HouseRabbit.org for all the most up-to-date bunny health and nutrition info.
Welcome! Lily looks like such a sweetie! This forum has been so helpful to me since becoming a new bunny owner. Best of luck, especially when the hormones kick in. haha!

But if your rabbit is Lily, and my rabbit is Lily, who’s flying this plane?
Jk, welcome to BB. She looks absolutely precious.
Haha. I noticed your rabbit was named Lily! Great minds think alike! =)
Thanks! She is my pride and joy now!! I’m soaking in all the cuddles she lets me have right now.
Because I hear the next stage can get pretty rough. I have already began calling my local vets
to find out who is going to spay her. I live in East Texas so I haven’t come into any problems with
finding vets that haven’t spayed/neutered rabbits. And it seems that the cost is about the same every
place I’ve talked to. I want to do it for her sake, I don’t want her to have to go through all the hormones when I
have no intentions whatsoever for her to reproduce.
But for now she lets me cuddle a bit and will take the few treats I have introduced her from my hand.
Litter box training is going well also. She has a few poop accidents every once in awhile (which I expect, as she is still learning)
but hasn’t peed anywhere except her litterbox in 4 days! WOO HOO! Lol.
Welcome! Your bunny is adorable! ![]()
She’s sooooooo cute!!!!!! She reminds me of my first bunny Fluffy
. She had the same madagascar colour pattern.
Welcome to you both. I also have two young bunnies, Frodo and Arya, so we can share notes!
Thanks everyone!
I took Lily to get her nails trimmed today, being that it was the first time she was having them done
she was not going to let me do them without a fight, so I figured the best route would be
to take her to the vet. She gave me one good scratch before I got her into her carrier. =( She’s never
really done that before. But when we got home she got a treat and seemed to be fine. Hopefully
I will be able to trim her nails in the future and she will be more understanding lol!
Hi I live in Texas too
Your bunny is really cute, the brown version of my bunny haha.
A lot of smaller farms in Texas sell horse grade coastal hay by the bale. I got a bale for $10 and literally did not have enough storage for it. I mix it with different hays as well like timothy, mountain, oat and botanical and my bunnies seem to like it. They usually use a majority of the hay for laying on and tend to like “foraging” through it so having that extra hay is nice since it’s not expensive. That is literally the only advice I have about Texas other than maybe freeze some water bottles or tiles to put in the cage during the day because even with AC it can get hot :/
Congrats on your sweet bun!
Thanks Slowebot! I know it’s starting to get hot here and I’m going to have to do something bc I don’t want her overheating.
thanks for the tips
Playing
and a pic for those bun lovers lol

Lol haha. You can try that too. The carrier to her means vet or play but she’s not sure which at first haha.
it’s 9:50 AM here and she’s already had her romaine breakfast. She’s s happy bun!
She is adorable!!! I had a bun that looked exactly like her!! He also was very orange.. He was a lion-lop but never lopped or grew out a lion mane which i was pretty bummed about. But enough about me! She is absolutely a doll and I will probably steal her before you do LongEaredLions
