Hi! I have a Netherland Dwarf rabbit named Hazel and she is almost 8 months old. Hazel has been with me since early January of 2016, and she is not yet spayed. Hazel is a very sassy bunny who loves to be in charge. Although she can nip sometimes and may be a little hard to work with, I think she is a very sweet rabbit who just needs a little more time to adjust to her surroundings. I am fairly new to rabbits, however, I have cared for  hamsters and mice in the past so I have a very fond knowledge for small animals. Hazel came into my life for the purpose of being a show rabbit, and I was given the opportunity to show her at my local county fair. Hazel won a blue ribbon in her class and the judges noted that she was a very beautiful rabbit. After the fair, I took Hazel home with me and we’ve been together ever since! She is truly my best friend and the bond we share will never be broken.

In case you were wondering about me, some of my favorite hobbies include baking, playing softball, watching Disney movies, making crafts, playing with my dog, Baby, hanging out with my friends, and going to theme parks. I’m so excited to be a part of this amazing community and I hope to see everyone around! Thanks for checking out my introduction post, have a wonderful day filled with bunny cuddles and binkies! ☺

Welcome BunnyHazel! Hazel is beautiful. Sometimes the nippy bossy bunnies can actually be the easiest to clicker train. So you might try that!

I have had a mixture of nippy, bossy, yet sweet and lovey dovey types, I love them all.

Aw! So cute! I’m a young, very new bunny owner and she is adorable! I have to ask, though, how did you bond with her so well? My little Levi I got last Friday and already we have bonded, but I just can’t seem to with my baby bunny, Nutmeg.

Thank you for the advice, it’s a great idea that I’ll be sure to try!

Thank you so much! Part of Hazel and I’s bond is formed by spending lots of time together. I think from all the work I did to get her show-ready to all of the days I spent at the county fair looking after her, she’s gotten very used to me being around her. I learned lots of things about her throughout the way as well: for example, I know that she doesn’t like to play in the afternoon when it gets hot, and I know that she likes to be busy, whether it be chewing on a toy or bunching up a towel. For your bunny, try to be persistent in getting to know the things your rabbit likes/dislikes, and once you learn those things, I’m sure your rabbit will thank you with lots of love! Good luck, and feel free to message me if you need any help!
