From what I gather, he’s at a Petco store currently? Which means he’ll be seen in the flesh and somebody else will snap him up. Can’t you appeal to Jared’s competative nature? (He’s and athelete right?)  This bun has blue eyes too!!!!!!! One of a kind!

hehe if he cares about cost and if he’s competative …. say “OMG guess what?? Petco is having a one-day sale (April 15th!!)– all bunnies half off– they’re clearing out the Easter stock” (*shivers* i know bunny lovers I hate those words too) then be all like “it’ll be the cheapest adorable bunny we can find we should go for it before he gets snapped up!!” Once you drive all the way out there and it turns out there is no sale (at this point act extra suprised )  make Jaredhold Levi and he’s sure to fall in love… haha just a suggestion.

I had a similar wish many months ago for Mimzy, there was the cutest little harlequin loppy at PETCO. I kept seeing it there and hoping it was female (I think it was, if I read the ear tattoo right) and I think it wasn’t long after we’d gotten Pip so the hubby at that point was like, “NO MORE BUNNIES.” I wanted to bring her home for Mimzy so bad, at that time Pip was not beginning bonding with him. And the last day I saw her, I had this awful feeling…didn’t have the courage to ask the hubby to get her, but I knew if I left town that day she’d be gone. And I was right.

Next time we went (I think the next day) she had been adopted. I was crushed.

Jared! Save yourself the misery and sadness that will overwhelm Justina if she doesn’t bring this cutie pie home! Trust me, you don’t want the unbearable spate of pouting that’s coming your way! (Both from Justina and from Boston!) lolz!

My daughter took one look at him and said, “Isn’t he a little young for Boston?” Gad, she’s quick! xD

…I seem to remember Jared was in the ‘bunny house’ for going on a cruise without you? *Ahem* Guilt Card!!!!!

Some things I do-they will not work in everyones situation of course as most people would not put up with me at all, so by natural selection Dave has thick skin and I can be pushy with him But when I need something, he doesn’t want it-for instance-especially with Rupert (Who I actually was teasing about getting never thinking he’d say yes!!!) I just kept talking about ‘when we get Rupert’ and things we’d change for the rabbit set up, and what we should buy for him and how happy he’d be to be out of the humane society. Then I started with ‘if you let me get him I’ll do this chore…” And eventually he just rolled his eyes and said OK!!! Sometimes it’s all about persistance!! LOL

For a second there, it looked like he has blue eyes. Guess I”m just seeing it wrong. There was a dutch/lionhead mix at Saveabunny that had blue eyes. I fell in love but the good thing was that he was basically immediately adopted out.

When I discovered Max, I made him my desktop background so Mike HAD to look at him. I am also kinda sneaky, I tend to bend the truth sometimes to turn things in my favor. “Sure honey, they’ll bond, no problem! I can GUARANTEE it…” Then I bring him home and have to get my rear in gear to get them bonded… LOL!

But… it worked out for us!

hahah Mimz, thats so funny your daughter said that! The website says he’s an adult, just wittle cuz he a lionhead! Totally remind me of me and Jared when I was heavier (big girl, scrawny skinny guy, lol!!!)

K&K you crack me up!!! I can’t believe I forgot about the cruise thing already!!! We had a long convo today about little Levi/Fenway and actually Jared brought it up. All the logical stuff, mostly he was like “You said if I let you get one bunny (Boston) that would be the end of it. So if I let you get Levi/Fenway, then what? What if they don’t bond, then you’ll want 2 more….etc, etc.” Also, what if something goes wrong and he needs a vet and the vet is far away, so then we have those probs X 2, etc….all the logical dumb stuff! But I’m working on him still…We actually both have Friday off (NEVER HAPPENS-TOLD HIM ITS FATE!!!!) so…….hoping to make a trip, maybe maybe maybe!!!

Beka—haha last night Boston was laying in her usual TV watching spot under the coffee table and I was admiring pix of Levi/Fenway (which is our background ) and I said to Boston: “Come here so we can talk about your arranged marriage!” lol!!!

Jared actually made the “if one passes away” argument…only it was opposite…he was like if one passes away then we have to get another…and that’ll lead to another and another…lol!!!

Mimz, my boyfriend is 26 (which I know is not old by any means) but he gets tons of crap from his fam for being the oldest and not married, no kids…so its kinda on both of our minds….BUT I hopefully have a lot of school left ahead me so no kids yet, just bunnies! Oh, and my dad was 60 when I was born…so I always tell Jared that to give him hope! lol

Sooo….there is actually a problem besides Jared….I was reading through the adoption process and if you are a renter you have to get a letter from your landlord saying its ok to adopt the bunny…..wellllllll, pets are against our lease and our landlord has NO idea that we have a bunny….so, what do we do about that?! eeek!

Uh oh… that might be a deal-breaker then. I wouldn’t recommend you try and get around the shelter’s requirements. They do what they do for good reason, to avoid people adopting and then having to return b/c they’re not allowed to have pets.

I’m thinking that you might want to approach your landlord very casually and say that you’ve heard there are a lot of abandoned bunnies after Easter that get dropped off for adoption at shelters. You’d love to rescue one, but was told by a friend that they require a letter from a landlord. Another friend said she lives in a no pets complex, but since bunnies are in cages and make no noise, her landlords had no problem. Is the policy here firm, or could you have a letter?

No mention of Boston at all. Act as if you know only what your friends have told you about how easy and clean they are. Not from personal experience. Then if it’s Yes, get the letter. If they stop by, show them your New bunny, Boston. Use the letter for Fenway tomorrow.

Jarad is already sold. When they ask the series of questions day after day, they are mulling it over. You won.

lol, you are so right Pam…I think I had him right away, but he is putting up the “neccessary” fight…I like your idea Pam! Plus, we won’t be in this apartment for that much longer (hopefully only a few months) so that might help w/ the persuasion of the landlord.

I think I might call the PetCo he’s being sheltered at tomorrow and find out some more details…I’ve been telling Jared that now is the perfect time to get another bunny cuz school is almost out so I will have time to work on bonding…

Now I’m just trying to stay partial in case he is gone or for some reason we can’t get him!

Both of the places I adopted my bunnies from “required” a letter from the landlord giving permission…In both cases I checked the “no” box for not having permission, and in both cases I brought home a bunny without any problems.  So maybe they aren’t as strict on that requirement…

Also, you could explain at the rescue that you didn’t get a letter as you plan to move in near future, but offer to get one if they insist. If they also know you have Boston who you’ll never part with, they may understand more your not a risk candidate that’ll have to rehome or return your adopted bunny due to renting issues.

With the landlord, if you tell them your intentions of leaving in near future they may not see problem in you having a pet in that short amount of time.

This is what I think, for what it’s worth…I’ve been on this forum for what…9 months or so? And in that time, while you have appreciated everybunny’s cuteness, you’ve never actively wanted a bunny like this. Obviously this little critter has wormed his way into your heart in a special way…

And why wouldn’t Boston want yet another creature to tell her she’s the center of the universe?! My diva LOVES the worship from human and bunny alike!

Seriously, once they’re bonded, 2 bunnies are the same as 1. Except that you know that when you leave for work, they have each other for company, and they’re not going stir-crazy all by themselves. Obviously, 2 bunnies eat twice as much as 1, etc, but if you get pet insurance (which you DEFINITELY SHOULD–TOTALLY WORTH IT!), there’s a multi-pet discount…

(When they break up, it sucks–but mine are freaks, I’m sure! Yours will probably be fine. If not “Spray-bottle Wedding!”)

I was totally in the same situation as you-unfortunately we’d picked that apartment because they told us they did allow rabbits then when I went to pay the deposit they told us they didn’t and never had allowed rabbits I was disappointed because I’d really wanted to be somewhere I didn’t have to hid my bunny. But we were already moved in and legally they were in the wrong-it was still a verbal contract-so we obviously kept the bunnies and just didn’t make a show of having them. It really stunk but luckily it wasn’t an on site landlord or anything-there was an office open just normal hours of staff who don’t really know you anyways so it wasn’t too difficult to hide them

Its my fault for not calling sooner and i’m not sure if I’m sad or relieved. Cuz I want him SO BAD, but I know I really can’t afford him right now…but I think I’m still gonna try to find out if he was adopted out or if he’s somewhere else

If you have bunny dating available to you, it’s probably the way to go. (says me who didn’t…) If anything, Levi got the cogs turning on 2 bunnies in the BF’s mind!

This adoption process would have required for us to bring Boston to him once and for Levi to have a “home visit” if we were to adopt him. I was thinking that–what if they HATE eachother??? I wouldn’t be able to give him up, but also don’t have the room to house them seperately…I think Beka’s right…it all happens for a reason and if it turns out, I find him and end up getting him its meant to be and if not, I’m sure they found him a great home b/c their adoption process was very in depth!

Aw, I’m sorry Justina. I know just how you feel too, that’s the same thing that happened when I’d wanted to bring that little harlequin lop bunny home from PETCO for Mimzy.
