        Lizzy’s not talking to me…

I came home from work, and she fell off her hutch ramp she was so happy to see me/to get out of her pen!  (She’s a klutzy bunny.).  And she followed me around as I got her dinner, and flopped next to me, and enjoyed 30 minutes of petting.  Then I went to get myself a snack, and she decided she was bored, and went into her hutch.

I took this as an opportunity to hang out with Robbie.  Closed Lizzy’s pen, and shut the door into the hallway, and let Robbie out of his pen and into the hallway (Lizzy doesn’t go there, so now scent-overlaps) for the first time.  He wasn’t overly-thrilled with being in a new area, but he let me pet him for awhile before going back to his pen.

Then I closed up his pen, washed my hands, and went back in to Lizzy.  Who was sitting in her pen, looking pissed.  Lizzy doesn’t really hang out in her pen.  She thinks of it as a pathway between her hutch and “her” living room.  I opened the door to her pen, and she sat there, and refused to come out.  Unusual…normally she charges out full-speed.  I got down on the floor and talked to her.  And got the bunny-butt.

Apparently Lizzy can see through closed-doors enough to know that someone other than her is getting attention.  Which, apparently, is strictly prohibited.

        Sigh.

What attitude! I guess they are right when they say these creatures are highly sensitive. I bet she will come around. You’re doing the right thing, even if she doesn’t think so.

Yeah, Ruffles, she’s got Rabbitude to spare! You should have SEEN my posts when I’d only had Lizzy for 1.5 weeks…! Miss-Thing lunged and pounced and bit and growled! I’ve only had her 2.5 months, and it’s only in the last 3 weeks or so that she’s stopped being a holy terror…which is part of the reason I was hesitant to drag another rabbit into the mix…

But she forgives me long enough to eat raisins and parsley out of my hand, before turning the bunny-butt on me again, so I hope she’ll get over it…

Wait until I try bonding them!!!

Welcome to the world of Bunny Jealousy! ^_^ I can’t tell you how many stink-eyes I have gotten from both Mimzy and Pip since Fiver came home. And don’t even ask about how my cat is taking all this. (just had to swat him away from poking Fiver)

Bunny butt is one thing…but when your first bunny starts throwing his litter box at insane hours of the morning and looking at you from his cage door with the most pathetic, “How could you do this to me?” look on his face, and you give him a treat and a head pet to make him feel better, knowing that if you don’t limit the treats you’re going to make him mondo-bun, well…it’s a tough row to hoe, I can tell you! >.<

Jake, the second rabbit is one that had been living in a park for who knows how long. She recently captured it and brought it home with her. I think she intends to try to bond them. Read the thread about the park bunny in the Lounge…

Our DJ gets upset by other buns in the house, fosters and over night guests.  He’s fine with us, and accepts hisw usually cuddling, but he takes out his annoyance by chasing his trio-mates and peeing on the floor.

Oh gosh I could write a book on bunny jealousy. It is still going on. I got bit growled at bunny butt stink eye pouting in cage ohhh. sometimes I don’t think it is worth it. I tend to cover cotton’s cage when I am with another bunny. But he knows anyways. And Ruby is getting to be jealous too. Giving stink eye when I am with Cotton. AT least she doesn’t bite. Yet.

OH I decided not to bond them cause Ruby attacks HB. Cottons attacks both. HE pulled a bit of lionhead hair off between Ruby’s ears. So much for that. Ruby grunts and boxes her xpen when Cotton happens by. When in his territory she doesn’t bother him at all wierd. And they don’t mark when they are together. Only when seperated by the xpen do they mark. That is weird too. Go figure.
