There have been server issues on the forum recently, and these are not usually noticed until AFTER you type out a big, detailed reply to a thread.  When you try to send the reply, suddenly the server is down and everything you just typed is LOST!

What I have been doing as of late, after I finish typing a reply, but before hitting “Submit”, I will “Select” all the text (highlight using your mouse or directional pad), and then I “Copy” it.  Only then do I submit the post.  This way your response is saved, and can be re-posted after the server is back up, usually within a few minutes.

Posts will also sometimes be LOST if two people are replying at the same time (using the “Quick Reply” box at the bottom of the page), so I generally try to always select/copy my replies before posting, just in case.

We appreciate all of the great input/advice from our knowledgeable and dedicated members.  I know the forum leaders have had posts lost recently, so just wanted to offer a helpful suggestion for everyone else!

If you use Firefox, Lazarus is and add-on that saves your text. After you lose something you just right click and “recover form”. Everything you typed will be right there!

Thanks for the info Kyt! I don’t use Firefox (I’m a “Google girl”), but that may be helpful for others!

Thank you so much for posting this Beka! It has been extremely frustrating, and I sincerely apologize.
We are actually updating in the next two weeks and so we hope that these problems will be fixed soon. I know we keep saying we will update but we finally met with our software and server providers and so we have some decent dates now. (knock on wood.) I will be posting about those in a little bit.

I do switch between the two. Google is faster, but the add-ons (probably what slows firefox down), keep me coming back to firefox. Though I know there is a way to get Adblock on Chrome, so you might look into Lazarus for Chrome. I just personally haven’t looked into it yet.

I don’t really do anything with add-ons, but I’ll try to do a search for Lazarus. I’d like that functionality for other things as well!

Ok, I found it on Chrome, not quite sure how to test it, but I think it’s downloaded… lol
