Boyfriend has been helping me with Stickers since she’s on twice a day antibiotics and won’t take it via a treat. Tonight I gave him Stickers after catching her so he could hold her while I give her the meds, since he says he feels like he’s hurting her if he puts a syringe in her mouth to force feed anything – I turned around after giving him the bun to get the syringe of Baytril off the table (he was supposed to take her to the bed) and as soon as my back was turned, he called me back with a “Uh… help”. Stickers had jumped out of his arms, climbed up onto his shoudlers and he was leaned over to be close enough to the floor if she jumped off she wouldn’t hurt herself, so she climbed onto his back. I had to run over, grab the rabbit and show him yet again the proper way to hold a rabbit so she can’t slip away. I don’t know which one looked funnier, the rabbit trying to balance on his spine or the boyfriend being all hunched over trying to keep her from falling. Luckily she didn’t decide to jump, though she would have just jumped about 3ft onto carpet at that point.

Is your “helper” good at helping with the buns? Or do you have to rescue them sometimes from the evil dictator that is the master rabbit ?

My hubby is pretty good with them, although he is still terrified of hurting itty bitty Monkey. he holds her so daintily she can wiggle out of his grasp no problem. Monkey has him trained I guess…. lol.

My boyfriend is really good with Huckleberry but that isn’t hard since I do most of the work! He feeds her half the time and plays with her and is really good at chasing her back to her room but I do the grooming, the poop cleaning and any other tough stuff. He is great at entertaining her though! Two nights ago, they had a staring contest…. Boyfriend claims he won.

My boyfriend is great with everything except holding Bun. We’ve watched videos together on how to hold him, and I’ve showed him numerous times but every time he has to hold him something similar to your story, Stickerbunny, happens. He doesn’t hold him firm enough because he’s afraid he’ll hurt him and I’m not sure if he could or not so I don’t really argue that point with him. It hard to tell someone about firmness because everyone has different strengths. But I definitely can relate!

No idea, but she sure does take advantage of it
