Hello! I need advice from the experts. My five-year-old rabbit has suddenly started kicking all her litter out of her pan. It is driving me absolutely insane. It makes a disgusting mess. At first I thought she didn’t like the litter I’d been using (Yesterday’s News), but switching to CareFresh made no difference.
She has a ton of toys, although she doesn’t play with them that much, and lots of cardboard for digging at and chewing. I think it’s that she’s bored and wants to dig, maybe, but I can’t seem to distract her with anything else.
I’m considering building a sort of barrier at the end of the litter box using cardboard, but I’m afraid that if she has to jump into the litter box from the side, she’ll just start peeing in the other corner of her area. I definitely don’t want to turn her off the litter box altogether.
Has anyone had this happen before? Did you find a way to discourage it?
