My 7 month bunny, Chika has not been pooping for the last few hours. The last few days she has been a bit gassy and today we gave her simethicone. Yesterday her poops were small. She has been eating sparingly, but drinking a normal amount. But she isn’t pooping. She has spent hours sitting in the litter box. She isn’t exactly her normal self, but not too lethargic either. We took her to a vet, and he told us to keep an eye on Chika. Any ideas on what to do?

        Thanks a lot!

You can give her 0,5 ml simethicone every 2-3 hours. Try to make her move around, that helps gas get out. You can also do a very light tummy massage like in this HowCast video:

Offer her the types of food she normally likes best. Freshly rinsed fragrant herbs like parsley, cilantro or dill can trigger an appetite, especially if you break a few stems so the fragrance becomes strong.

Make sure she keeps warm. A poorly bun can get hypothermic. A good method is to sit the bunny in your lap. Then your body heat helps warm her up but it can’t get too hot. Having the bun in your knee also makes it easy for you to elevate her butt slightly, so gas can escape.
